Hey Nag, I'm a former balancer and tester for ALS. That comment from Tang about the most recent update can be applied to pretty much every update after W2. The devs wait until the last second to add the new content to the test place, and then expect the testers to playtest the entire game within a very short span. As for ALS' balancing issue, its simply because of glitched. Glitched is probably the single biggest mistake that was made by the old devs. I was on the balancing team for around 2 months and we quite literally **had** to balance around glitched. The devs have even recently been saying the game needs more power creep, its outrageous. That on top of the fact that we often would balance new units around the idea that they'd have a unique mechanic, which the devs would scrap last second and give us no time to adjust stats. The most recent example of which is Ichibei. Unfortunately, the development team is so focused on releasing the updates on a specific day that quality starts to get sacrificed. Just so you know, the last 3 updates weren't meant to be limited or even events at all, a choice made by the devs for some reason despite limited events constantly getting negative feedback. ALS just has a serious management issue. Sorry for the rant, just wanted to elaborate.

Former Anime Defenders Planner here (we helped make new updates). It went downhill once the game released. The devs didn’t listen to an ounce we said or any of our suggestions. I love Sub, forbrad, highemp, and Zach but they really let player count and money get to them. Me and other planners (shout out Jamil) tried and urged the devs to make trading not every unit and remove booths (the cause of gem trading). They let their egos get to them. Once AV dropped the devs of AD are seeing the consequences. I genuinely wouldn’t be suprised if the devs of AD are trying to get AV taken down due to the lack of communication. Good video all around, the AD era needs to come to an end. Just a disaster and a train wreck. I quit right after the 5,7 years update (to which they never told us about until we had to test the game)

Nag, the entire thing about the "dev" being on the leaderboard drama wasn't because they can "console" their way through (I've watched Andrevious, and its fact that he's been the No.1 player in AA for a long time) The problem, is that, as a developer, you get access to INFORMATION, way before any other player about the game. The drama here, is that Andrevious (and other testers) knew about a game-changing bug (Applying a slow, then a stun after, converts the duration of the slow into a stun) which allowed them to get 1 extra wave in, to reach top 1-4. Then the devs fix it right after without resetting LB, and now it's unobtainable. Personally, IMO, I think this might just be a one off thing, and strategies for infinites (so long as it aint a bug) do eventually get discovered if you try it hard enough. Nonetheless, a dev/tester will always have an early information advantage compared to the rest of the playerbase (not really a big problem imo).

It does make sense of them being developers, but they don't get that kind of information, they're all previously top AA leaderboard players, so they're used to finding the best strategies to getting higher DPS, higher waves etc Developers or not the members all have access to find the methods themselves, by accident or not, everyone has the chance to try and get such ways to getting higher waves, I get the suspicion just because there's a Dev and testers but they've worked hard, and used their own resources to get in game gems, traits etc, nothing was unfairly given as each did their own ways and spendings

I used to run lbs in AA and I’m telling you it was impossible to get over him unless you were cheating(Griffith duping) or using the lag exploit Devs shouldn’t be running lbs period He had access to all the stats for characters,all their passive abilities and only shared it with his guild players making it impossible to get top 10 😂

@@sleepy6849 exploit isn’t the right term Their was a glitch that was abused during the time guilds came out that was able to slow every enemy in the game From my knowledge it was shiguraki who was able to cause the lag due to the amount of ticks he inflicted Their was a strat where erwin was able to be used to control the lag so you wouldn’t dc but it got patched quickly(that’s why you couldn’t place more than 6 globally) Any player using this could get high lbs if you killed the enemies quick enough even without uniques

Why can’t people make anime td games that don’t need macros and just release a game that has hard content on the surface but with actual strategies you can beat it very easily like other non anime td games like bloons or arknights or smthing and then give lots of rewards per run enough so that you only have to do like 5 runs max.I don’t get why people are settling like they say every game does macros so it’s fine and they don’t ever find the need to innovate. Because it's roblox, literally that's it, they want more people to spend more time on it just so they can get more payouts from roblox premium users. They won't make things harder because it's for children on roblox, they aren't the brightest, and that means making a game with a decent amount of difficulty just alienates their biggest potential audience. Awtd pre 2x was slow but it was fine since the units didnt need as much as the harder to get units today. They added 2x and 3x after the units were needing more and more materials to evo. This made the new player experience smoother and faster than previous. Game didn't need it but there were so many units to evo that the devs just added it.

btw about trading in AV it is confirmed to come eventually however only exclusive units will be tradable (this was said by a tester in booster chat so its been known among boosters for a bit now) so like currently only rengoku and haruka rin maybe they'll include secrets but as of right now only exclusives are confirmed to be tradable when trading comes out

I'm just now wanting to play awtd after like 6-12 months of having not played the game, and you're right about the early game. it's quite annoying trying to figure out who's meta and what characters do, the wiki is outdated some of my old units (Like non evo Gojo) have had so much changed about them and there's characters who I had been close to evoing the last time I played are now way further away. I find the early game to be such a motivation killer, especially when im grinding to evo units who need 150b damage for evo yet only get like maybe 4b a run because of how outdated my units are. I hope that when they do update the game more they work on the early game a bit just to make it not as terrible as it currently is imo.

All AWTD needs is optimization, they've always struggled with it especially on mobile, also the return to lobby or spawn would be great like you mentioned but i think also staying with in the same instance when you press next would help a large amount of players since most complain about the loading times, also with how many units are in the game it would incredible to have a unit manager like AV, also constant updates would keep the game alive. They have a really good game jus hope they don't abandon it 🙏

Easy thing for alt farming just don’t make the game currency the trading material, make trading like level 50 requirement. Like in AD you could alt farm off rip. Most trading in tower defense games add low req for trading and it slowly destroys there game

Roblox needs to rework premium payouts because it just stops games from making decent content. Like tf you mean I have to do 300+ runs to get a single igris just for him to get nerfed the next update. Im sure nobody would be mad if the content was harder but you got better rewards. Like to get all the things in the blood commander shop you need to do like 50 runs! I like the content that they give us but 50 runs is too much considering the average clear time is nearly 15 minutes. I think that these problems stem from roblox's premium payouts system encouraging developers to keep players in their games as long as possible.

18:50 anime last stand also moved the settings button from the top left to the bottom left in order to copy vanguards. In the patch notes aswell they added a disable camera shake setting in order to copy vanguards despite the game not even having camera shake in the first place😂😂

Bro, this is a PvE game. The only "PvP" here are leaderboards. EVEN THEN, only Infinite leaderboards have P2W. Have you seen the Igris speedrun event? The gamemode is TRAITLESS (you cant P2W), and the reward is 250 free rrs if you can get the FASTEST time recorded completion on it. Remember: Comparison is the thief of joy. When you "pay" in this game, its for convenience mostly. Everything (except infinite) is COMPLETELY F2P-friendly. Like, you can SOLO legend stage with a LEGENDARY bruh.

idk how true the statement "the devs dont spawn in items/units" is since one of the devs Kazisita has monarch alucard with 0 gems spent. also sure Aandrevious is buying rerolls and gems but isnt he just using robux earned from the game and putting it back into the game, basically getting them for "free"? Although right about most things, I think you missed some major talking points. Firstly, AV is leagues ahead from a visual standpoint. ALS and AWTD just lack the visual appeal that games like AV and AD have. The only problem with AD is the character models sometimes not even slightly resembling the characters. In many cases, I wished they would've ditched the anime part and just created their own characters instead. In addition, players willingly turning off visuals and putting their games into 3 times speed solely to make the grinding process easier kills half of the fun of the tower defense game. My favorite part when it comes to new updates is seeing the attacks and visuals that new characters come with, including lesser characters that may not be meta. When you're not able to directly influence the game, the visual side of things should be engaging in its own way. Secondly, balancing. I know you covered it in the video however, you missed a major aspect. AV does not force the player to either obtain new units or get secrets. Instead, it actually rewards the player for utilizing units that although may not be new, still have a place in the still-developing meta. A great example of this is epic units like sakura and crocodile being essential in teams depending on the stage, or legendaries not getting completely outscaled and actually having a place in the early game because of their well-designed passives. Many useful teams do not rely on a secret to carry them, and instead just take a bit of forethought and teambuilding. If the update we've gotten so far resembles what future updates will look like, I think AV will continue to completely dominate the tower defense market. Time will tell us how AV will perform, but in my opinion, I don't see it falling from grace until Anime Reborn comes out, and that's a ways away.

Anime defenders is doing good I think (Haven't played it recently don't know if its making good updates let me know if you do play it a ton) however anime last stand falling behind is not because of vanguards its because of the devs apparently the testers do give criticisms and suggests nerfs/buffs but the devs ignore it. And I'm not a developer feel free to say I'm wrong but they do not release enough patches or fixes its been like a few days and all they did was change the element and add a few fixes and a buff that in my opinion never even buffed the character. If anime last stand listened to their community actually looked at the suggestions channel they made and took a bit longer on updates while giving testers a full day to test I think the player base could rise. Also I think there's only 4 devs correct me if I'm wrong for anime last stand which I think there should be more for a game with 30k-40k+ concurrent players.

I Personally think that anime vanguards grinding system is good. Few of my friends complained about maxing the game after the update for just a few days. and now they dont content or anything to play. Matter the fact grinding should even be incrased. not talking about rengoku drop chance being rarer to drop but for example act 1-3 from raid was done in 16 mins or sm

10 out of 10 yap keep it up man and genuinely als is in such a bad spot I believe they should close the game for some time and genuinely work on it but the boss and his team are just focused on the money aspect and buying multiple Roblox games and not care about their players and you hate to see it cause the game was getting the recognition they deserved but now it’s just sad

My tower defense game will be devouring this for constructive criticism, ideas, and how to make mine stand out. Since I cant afford to pay people for maps, models, or coding, I've done everything by scratch (if I couldnt get it from a tutorial or for free off the marketplace) The game propably won't look visually appealing in the end, but I want to make up for that by having in-depth features that allow it to shine any way. (For example, I love how AWTD changes traits based on evolution + passive, so I want to take that into account when I make my own traits. Like ground units gaining hybrid on the last upgrade for specifc or very rare traits)

Nah, the game is extremely good, comparing as a veteran player that player some prehistoric games like astd, i say that vanguards is the closest we've came to anime adventures. Aa was really a breeze and i was devastated when it got deleted(cause i had shiny homura but). After that i tried als, it was laggy asf and very unsatisfying. Anime clash we dont talk about it. Anime defenders was good at start but after i saw how IMPOSSIBLE it was to get any good unit, i decided to take a break from anime tower defense games. After a while i came back for anime vanguards hype and was genuenely surprised how smooth everything was. The best game in the genre so far. My only complaint is player and units levels are too slow to grind, lkke i already have 3 evolved units yet no 5th slot. Overall, a major success of a game

I only play AV cuz it reminded me abit of AA not becuz it's the best anime TD game out there, there's definitely some flaws such as Challenges being too hard for people who aren't that good at the game and legend stages are sometimes abit too hard.

Awtd is such I good game what I do dislike is that people complain about games not having content but when awtd has content they complain about how its out dated which I don’t understand cause lots of games have outdated units the thing is at least awtd makes those units easier to get and there still strong early game is kinda bad and especially the lag is extremely it just runs bad which it has sense the aniversary which I have been trying to tell people just give the devs a bit to get used to it so that way they can optimize the game properly then people also complain about how the games to easy which I also don’t understand cause what do you want a super difficult time taking game I don’t understand that argument and oh let’s not forgot the ones saying the new lobby and UI looks bad and the models and visuals look bad or the ones saying the games to complicated and I’ve have heard people actually talking bad about awtd systems and rarity like do you not know how R,SR,UR, etc and why would you not want them to have evo it’s honestly irritating hearing people complain about rarities and people saying the devs are lazy by giving the lower rarities units evolutions nvm ima stop talking but as I get older people just sound stupider 😔 ( I’ve been playing awtd for over 2.5years I’m 15) 😭

As a mobile player that got rengoku in 7 tries and Igris in 15 the grind was easy for. Me but I have friends with over 100 tries and friends who just macro and got alufstd and Igris and rengoku

One more thing that is important is AA copy, im talking abt Vanguards is AA copy, yea ALS was in first point when other people were devs, now its not ( I don't play AD or AWTD so don't know about that) The new boss event is literally tournaments without elements buff, one AA feature copy, raids arent straight up AA raids, that act 4 feature is cool but that is about it, rerolls balancing is going to be same as AA for sure when game gets more updates and new event like that is going to be p2w because for sure it's not going to be without traits like rn, ALS doesn't have that problem, rerolls are easy and its doesn't really scaling for glitched, right now new portals in ALS are easy because it's light element so problem was element and units for it. One thing I like about ALS that I can get every unit in update there isn't 0.75% or 1% units, i got godly dio in ALS with 5 days without alts just 2 trades for some items and that's about it mythic shards are now easy to get cuz 10 ch daily, u just wanted to finish update in like 2 days. Saying that Vanguards is on top just because other games copying it is crazy, player count is saying nothing to game experience. Managing units and upg is cool but in ALS and other two games where u have good traits u are going to place 6 units so there's not really need for that

You are blinded by nostalgia AV is a much greater game than AA and it's no longer a copy it as the devs wanted to have their own unique game and it's definitely not p2w like AA where you BARELY get 30 rerolls after a horrid amount of time and everything is balanced so well you don't need the secrets to progress smoothly neither the mythic traits

Anime vanguards is 10 times easier than anime adventures because there you need to have at least 1 mythic to do ANYTHING except first couple of stories.

All it took was a new game to show up then ALS and AD actually started working and copying the QOL stuff Als copy the unit manage menu Anime defenders copy the play next portal without going to lobby Bet anime defender will add that when anime vanguard add a portal to portal system
