You have to read Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential. He devotes quite a bit of pages to his time at Provincetown and the rest of the book is eminently readable.

I will be visiting Cape Cod ironically this week. Bourdain's shows were my favorite, loved his books, loved his personality. It feels like a relative died. Will pay homage to him at the Lobster Pot next week. RIP Anthony.

In 1971 I was a short-order cook at the Wharf Luncheonette. I had a room for $25/ week in a little house across the street from the Boat Slip. I never ran into Anthony, but I get a little chuckle from knowing he was sleeping at Spiritu's Pizza while I was living in style! RIP, Traveler

Anthony would have been there a little later. Trying to remember from his book Kitchen Confidential, he was there mid to late 70's. Around 76 or 77, I think. But a nice link all the same.

I live in Japan now, but this made me so homesick for Massachusetts. Something Anthony Bourdain might not have told us explicitly is how good food and travel are for you as a person. I've grown so much in two different stints teaching in South Korea and Japan, and my palate has greatly expanded to all kinds of things. I don't eat like a kid anymore because of my travels to Asia.

I worked at the lobster pot as a young man and it has to this day made such an impression in my life and I'm forever grateful for Joy that scared the hell out of me and Tim the chef that was more than willing to teach me and Sean that absolutely wanted the most out of me as a server. I love everything about this restaurant and how they accomadated me and made me the person that I am today.

I been there at The Lobster Pot when I was with my dad in Provincetown, MA revisiting my Native Massachusetts. There is nothing like the cold tail lobsters from there and taking that great pride of New England/North East Cuisine.
