He has potential, but I am worried whoever drafts him will try the old throw into the fire and see what happens strategy. He needs seasoning, get him on a bench for a year or 2 and during that time upgrade offensive line and receivers, than put him in. If he lives up to his potential, we could see a really fun to watch qb

It’s gonna take the right system to make it work. If Jones doesn’t get a deal done I can see Daboll being one of the coaches who can get him NFL ready. But it’ll take the right situation. I don’t trust the titans QB development. They don’t have a good track record of developing QBs and that’s why I think Willis is going to struggle. Willis is also older and is less league ready than Richardson who is only 21.

He's way more refined as a processor and as a decision maker than what he's given credit for and the current consensus on him. But he has really bad lower body mechanics which leads to really bad accuracy. But we've seen in other players that with the right coaching in the right infrastructure, accuracy can be improved on ( also with good work ethic which by all accounts Richardson has). He's my QB1 and I feel confident is saying that. Situation and infrastructure is everything for every prospect even for the guys that are viewed to have high floors

I semi-disagree. His IQ is a major problem. He’s very mediocre at reading defenses and this leads him to run A LOT when he can’t find a way to move the chains. It does work sometimes, but it could really hurt his longevity. He needs a coaching staff that can hone this kind of stuff if he wants a chance at being an NFL talent similar to Lamar Jackson or Cam Newton.
@Joshknowsball0
@Joshknowsball0 Жыл бұрын
@@spartanv4335 I mean yea he's not refined as a processor or decision maker I hope that's not what you got from my original statement. I just think he's more developed in those aspects than the general public thinks rn. " Malik Willis 2.0" I can't take you seriously if you say that about Richardson because he's way more sound as a pure Quarterback mentality and ability wise. But he needs to work more on those aspects no doubt but showed a lot of progress reading coverage knowing where to go with the ball it just doesn't get there accurately from what I saw. But I agree with your statement tho

Here is the problem. Now believe it or not I'm old enough to remember basically the entire existence of the NFL at this point clear as day like it just happened. Now there was a long standing tradition of not playing rookie QB even Dan Marino was made to sit and that was fine along with prudent. It was understood that the NFL game was super hard and you needed to learn everything about it before going in specially as a quarterback rookies almost never saw the field unless you were a standout on defense or running back. However when they started hanging out bigger and bigger and bigger contracts to rookies instead of veterans there became a demand of return on your investment and now they almost always try to start them early. And that is literally why we have so many bus now because they're forcing these kids into a fight with wolves and they ain't ready. You should have stayed in Florida and continue to work on his craft and skills for a few more years but since he didn't he now needs a NFL team that is going to be that patient and they aren't. So even if his work ethic is like Peyton Manning he's not ready. Yes I know what happened with Josh Allen is an example to the rule but you have to look at that in context of the bigger picture and the fact it was the Buffalo bills. They have been horrible drafting quarterbacks and trying to put him in the fire so they finally decided to do The prudent thing and work with a kid. But that doesn't mean anyone's going to do it with this kid

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you. Looking at the highlights you showed, I have a kid and we didn't have time to watch much college ball this season. Richardson is a pro quarterback. His comp you shoot for is Jalen Hurts. Jalen Hurts learned how to NFL run before he learned how to NFL throw. He's careful with the football. He got a tick faster reading and a tick faster release and targets that catch. Like he became a fully functional pro quarterback. Richardson could win games unless the coach is a complete dullard. I can see him in Washington with Eric bienemy. He knows how to teach him how to use his legs in the NFL. Rivera had Cam Newton and learned from a bunch of mistakes he made there. Josh Allen in my opinion never really learned how to NFL run or throw, but he's highly effective doing what he does. Cam Newton was very good but the league hated him. The late hits in the pocket were worse than the running hits. And the refs swallowed the whistle. They protect Josh Allen like a China doll and he flops a lot now.

I am a die-hard Gator fan and I love Anthony Richardson I wish he would have came back for at least one more year I think he needed it badly in my opinion he's not even a third-round pick at best third round but I'm thinking more like 4th or 5th and I absolutely love the guy I think he needed another year I think he should have came back to Florida for another year then maybe he could have been a first-round pick

@@indypacers2895 for me I think one year cause he only started for one year after Jones left. And I don’t hate him or anything I watched him in highschool cause we went to school in the same city, and then I went to every UF home game and saw amazing stuff but I also saw some very dumb moves he made and think he just needs some more help to become a elite QB for the NFL

@fireforge gamming yea I'm with you I definitely think he needed more time. I'm a Kentucky fan so I watched when they played Florida and I caught a couple other Florida games. I definitely see the talent but I also see why anyone would get nervous to draft him because he's not consistent yet. I'm also a Colts fan and I would love to have him if I knew he'd turn out but if he doesn't that's a huge miss lol it's a hard decision

I'm a Florida fan (my whole life) and he's not ready. He needs another year in college. He made some good plays with his legs but his decision making, accuracy and football iq is not where it should be. Everyone is wowed by the combine but is he going to be a track star or a football player? He's more miss than hit. I wish him the best though.

Look I get the hype around this guy, but let me ask you this can you name a single QB with a similar skill set and success in the college that has carved out a strong career in the NFL. When you think of Anthony, he immediately reminds me of Cam Newton. This isn’t a bad thing, but where Anthony Richardson struggled, Cam Newton thrived. Cam dominated college football and was almost a unanimous number one pick. I just see the same flaws and we saw in Jamis Winston with Anthony. Maybe not the character issues but this guy would take a lot of work to perfect and I he pressure a lot of these rookie QB’s have entering the NFL I just personally don’t see it panning out. I think when it comes to talent like this it only pans out if they are an absolute generational talent like Cam. Hopefully I’m wrong and I wish him the best as I do all athletes. I just personally wouldn’t want my team using a 1st or second round pick on this guy.
