It was removed to help water resistance. The plastic case for the headphones was removed long, long ago and while profit was likely a part of it so was being enviorvmentally friendly.

I’m one of those people who used it daily. I see that I can’t replicate 3D Touch on what’s up for example, haptic touch doesn’t seem to work like 3D Touch at all. With 3D Touch I could read a message without triggering its “read” check marks for example, so that I could respond later.

3D touch was more expensive to make on Apple's side so it was one of their main reasons why they replaced it with a cheaper option, haptic touch. However, because of using haptic touch instead of 3d touch, Apple should reduce the prices of their iphone's that have 3d touch as it is not as premium as 3d touch!

GalaxyNinja66 I thought the same till I found out an easy way to do it. At first I thought you would have to Haptic Touch the icon then select “edit home screen” on the drop down menu. Faster way to do it is to Haptic Touch the icon and immediately drag slightly once you feel the haptic click before the drop down menu pops out. You’re welcome

I am still using iphone 6s and love 3D touch been using it since 3 n half years. I was about to upgrade to 11 pro but i am not doing it now because i dont want to miss 3d touch. May be till next year I may overlook this feature and get iphone 11s instead :) It would be hard for me to miss headphone jack and 3d touch both. Love both of them.

One of few features that I personally as an Android user admired was 3d touch it was practical and only mainstream phone with 3d touch technology was iPhone Pst fun fact for you before 3d touch Samsung had a different implementation of a feature similar to 3d touch it was called Air view basically it did what 3d touch does but instead of force press you hovered your finger over for explane a link and it did the peak and pop thing you hovered over it it did the peak and you tapped it it would do the pop just find it interesting how differently the two manufacturers implemented the same thing btw Samsung removed it from its phones (it launched on s4 and removed on s6) for the exact same reason as Apple did with iPhone plus Samsung couldn't make the technology work with the curve of s6 edge and it wouldn't make scene to add it only to the cheaper flat screen s6 but i kinda miss it it was a real show teller to do that.

I'm an Android guy, but the 6s was my last iPhone. 3D touch was very cool, and I loved it. Haptic touch is indeed inferior, its what's on my current Android. 3D touch adds an additional layer and another way of navigating. You can only do so much with a touch screen, so more ways to interact with it is always a plus. In addition, 3d touch was great when navigating a curser through a text message to edit.

All ya need to do is the whole thing of moving the cursor to where you want it, then while still holding in cursor mode to tap with another finger on the keyboard. Now as you move the cursor, what gets moved over will be highlighted

Why would you ignore the feature? Thats so lazy. Just put in a bit of effort to learn it and then you'll realise how damn good it is. I use it hundreds of times a day and for anyone that likes playing COD Mobile or any other FPS, it is a huge advantage to be able to 3D Touch to shoot rather than having to take your thumb off the screen and move to the shoot button. It's a major game changer and its one of the main reasons why I am holding onto my iPhone XS for another year.

As an Instagram marketer, 3D touch was king. I have to look at hundreds of profiles and posts a day. With 3D touch, I could instantly "peek" at a profile or post without ever leaving the page I'm at. It makes my Instagram navigation and engagement twice as productive. Because of 3D touch, I will never leave the iPhone 7 as my side phone.

I have had an iPhone 8 Plus for 4 years now (not the same one obviously) and I simply can't get rid of it because of the 3D Touch. I also prefer Touch ID over FaceID. Feels faster and prevents accidental log ins.

Whene playing a game like Call of Duty Mobile it was just an unbelievable advantage. When set to shoot with 3D Touch it allowed you to move and shoot at the same time

I had the iphone 7, and it had 3D touch... I barely used it. The only thing I thought I’d miss was the trackpad... when I was upgrading, I was undecided between the Xs and Xr... when I found that the spacebar would have the same function of controling the trackpad, I decided 100% on the Xr!

Just upgraded from an 8 to 13 pro max. I’m glad I just learned that I can use Haptic Touch to control the cursor on the keyboard, but I still used 3D touch for everything. I’ll miss it.

Which is why my phone is still running 12.4.1 I don’t understand why they completely disabled the feature on devices that could still support it, seems like a rip off giving you a feature that’s less superior than what you had before.

3D Touch was one of the features that defined iOS and something that Android didn't have, Apple should've made a little demo of it in the setup process so that the average how would know and care

I just got my first iPhone, an used iPhone 8 plus. I'm a digital artist, and I noticed that it has what I have not seen on a phone ever... pressure sensitivity... One of the best features at making art! But it looks like this will be my first and last iPhone if the new ones do not come with this feature. P.D.: I use Medibang Paint to do my art, which perfectly supports 3D Touch and lets you do your lines as thin or thick as you wish on the fly ❤‍🔥❤‍🔥❤‍🔥

I used it daily for everything that I could use it on and used it for many many games and that’s why I won’t swap to a new phone till they find a new way to add it back because I still play those games and prefer playing with it.

* HELFUL TIP* If you press and hold the space bar you get the keyboard courser BUT if you tap the keyboard with a separate finger while the first finger is still on the screen you get TEXT SELECT, the same feature provided by a second deeper press on 3D Touch 😁

So I just learned that they’ve removed 3D touch from iPhone after being for 2 years with the iPhone X and more than 1 year with the 11 pro. I’ve bern pressing down the screen all that time for nothing because I should’ve just hold it. GREAT 👍🏼

Apple post Jobs is Lol.. they introduced 3d touch and removed it. They introduced butterfly keyboard and removed it. They removed the ports from macbook and brought it back. Clear lack of vision.

they should have created some games to promote the 3d touch, like a racing game, in which the car would go fast or slow based on the 3d touch data
