You know if your credit card has insurance for mobile devices, it will cover for repairs and replacement from theft up to a certain amount.

I got a screen protector and a case and I just dropped my phone last night and the imapact somehow went through the screen protector and broke my iPhones actual glass. My screen protector wasn’t even scratched or cracked and I peeled it off carefully because I wasn’t sure which one was cracked and I had a brand new screen protector and a broken phone screen.

So I ran the numbers for my old iPhone 6 and current SE 2020, the 6 needed a battery swap due to aging once every 2 years for peak efficiency that would be covered by AppleCare, costing roughly £3 per month whilst a battery swap outside of AppleCare would set you back about £60, meaning that it paid for a swap every 20 months before factoring any additional damage which may need repair services. The SE so far appears to be following the same trend, having got it in late 2021 and it now being close to the 80% efficiency at which AppleCare kicks in covering the replacement cost, except now the cost for a replacement outside of AppleCare is £70, meaning you’re getting just shy of the full 2 years worth.

People use phones everywhere, I use mine to take proof pictures that the windows and glass doors we install are in pristine condition, so when we show up the next day and it’s scratched or burned I have evidence it wasn’t us. sometimes those photos are 3 stories up, and having applecare and icloud DOES make me more comfortable in those sketchy places

I have it because you never know what could happen. I have the 14 pro max and for some reason my cellular data disappeared and yes my phone bill was paid. I had to restart the phone for it to pop up again. Then I tried to update the phone and it got stuck on the verifying update screen. I restarted it again and my cellular data icon wouldn’t turn on at all. I did have dead pixels on my screen too from drops and only had to pay $30 for it to get replaced completely.

Point of Sale extended warranties (essentially what AppleCare is) are typically poor investments for the consumer. This is very misleading short, Apple care is worth every Penny from a personal experience had phone 12 pro max and just 10 days before the 2 years warranty was ending I took my phone with cracked back, my battery level was 87%. Two days after the repair done I got a new phone (except for the screen since there was no damage) so basically they fit my old display in a new phone with a new battery too just for 29eur (in additional to the Apple Care costed which 180 EUR when I bought the phone) it would've costed me 700 euro for the exact repair in an authorized repair but now I only ended up paying 209 euro Other plus is I can sell my phone and get almost brand-new price after two years of usage
