Why Aqara Gateway Camera Might not be Your Security Cam

Eventually initiated a connection to the security cam by switching to China Mainland locale in the app. You have to wait about 5 seconds after camera reset, only then the address of the camera will appear. There might be other configurations but that's what worked. Also, not so sure what are the consequences of choosing Mainland as the locale, will probably post another video later.

Cant get it connect to router. Even if Im next to the router and chosing China Mainland server. Any other suggestion? Thanks

The camera is Shiite even after you connect it. The features it provided as a security cam are pathetic, don't confuse this cam with a Yi security cam, not the same features at all.

I turn off wireless ac and use wireless n on the router doesn't like mix wireless protocol

Hi John, I tried to turn off WIFI on the phone, tried also on two Redmi Note and MI6, also tried to rescan with Bluetooth. If you have more suggestions, I'd like to hear. Thanks!

I meant WiFi frequency setting in your router

Why are you turning off the router? The new device doesn't even know about it. Besides, there are like 20 other routers from the neighbors, wouldn't they interfere? .. if I followed correctly your idea..

In my router setting you can choose wireless b,g,n,a,c

Hi John, the issue was solved by choosing China Mainland in the App, please see my other comment.

Just set IP Camera Server to Mainland China.

Right, but for Mainland China other problems will appear in the future such as logging in using three factor authentication. And if you attempt to forget / lose your Authenticator settings, there's no way to receive SMS from my experience. It's a good camera and it does work with China settings, just would be cool to describe all these ahead.

Sometimes you have to put it very, very close to the WIFI modem, if not will not work.
