And the people who call themselves Palestinians came from the Arabian peninsula in 7th century, and a Palestinian state never existed for real. And Palestine is something that the Arabs who call themselves that have stolen that identity from that extinct European tribe called the philistines/palestinians aka the tribe of Goliath from Crete, Greece, Europe. At the same time there were other Canaanite kingdoms. Modern Palestinians descend from the ancient Canaanites. As do Jews. At the time there was no distinct racial or ethnic group of "Israelites." Modern historians have all concluded that "Israelites" were simply a break-away sect of Canaanites that formed a distinct identity based on worship of "Yahweh" as opposed to worship of Baal. There likely was no "exodus" at all, or if there was, it was only a tiny group, rejoining the main Israelite population, that never left the region of Canaan. The rest was myth-making that was part of Israelite identity formation.

It's factually true that European Jews with only a religious connection to Palestine settled the land and created a state where the existing population did not want them. Call it conquest, settler colonialism, whatever you want. But the idea that white Europeans might have descended from people living there thousands of years ago gives them a claim to the land is silly. The US and Australia were settled by settler colonists, as mentioned. The settlers overwhelmed the locals and finally controlled their countries. Similar origins in Rhodesia and South Africa ended up there with the settlers too vulnerable to keep control. Arab/Palestinians in Palestine/Judea are determined and supported enough that the brutality required of settler Jews to control them is, I'm guessing, eroding the soul of those Jews and increasingly loosing them support. I can't see Israel being able to disappear or accommodate non-Jewish locals enough to keep Israel a Jewish state. Anyway not by any means used now.

I just want to point out that the word "settler" is really too complimentary. Whites in America displaced the indigenous people and "settled" the frontier. But at least they in some sense earned what they had, they cleared land, built homesteads with the sweat of their brow, and made the land productive and helped feed the nation. The Israeli "settlers" in the West Bank and Gaza are essentially glorified welfare recipients with no productive role at all. No Arab country wants them. They're not stupid. All the Palestinians need to do, is to shut up about killing Jews, and concentrate on developing themselves into a modern society. If the Jews did it, so can they. Stop being the lackeys of Iran and so righteous about themselves. Israel is not going anywhere. They must remember that in Israel there are 2 million Arabs who are israelies , who live happily in a democratic country where gays are not thrown from top buildings, where there are no honour killings, where women are not stoned, and where their government don't use them as human shields.
