Anyone that can grow eggplant like that,in my opinion has a very green thumb! I've never been able to get anywhere with eggplant but after watching this video ,I think I can do a lot better! Thank you for all the great info n can't wait to see more!

Blossom generally drops if the temperature is higher than 34/35 degree celsius. They won't produce fruit as conditions not favorable. Tomato, Peppers and Egg Plants are self Pollinating, no need to hand pollinate also just run the fan, it would act as wind so as to wind pollinate.

I have 2 eggplants in the ground that are 5ft (1.5m) tall and they only produced 2 fruit so far. Meanwhile I also have two eggplant that are in pots but produced twice as much fruit despite being half the size. They're all the regular purple eggplant. Do you know how I can encourage the in-ground ones to produce? It's not that hot, the past month have been about 20-30C during the day, 13-21C during the night, so temperature shouldn't be an issue (warm enough for my okra and cool enough for my tomatoes, both are producing great). The in-ground ones only got a half handful of chicken manure about every 3 weeks plus some organic matter/manure in the hole when I planted them, so I'd be surprised if that was too much nitrogen (chicken manure was 5-3-2). I doubt it's too little nitrogen since the plants are very green - the potted ones had many more yellow leaves. The potted ones got similar organic matter + chicken manure.

i water mine maybe every 2 days or when I see the leaves drop. And I agree with the feeding. i learned that the hard way hehe

I have a mystery that any aubergines or eggplants that I put in my large polycarbonate greenhouse, where tomatoes and peppers thrive, just don't seem to set fruit and the flowers just fall off. If I grow my aubergines in the polytunnel next to it, aubergines do fine. Is there something about the light or humidity that is a problem? At first I thought it was because insects weren't able to pollinate the flowers, but as Rajiv below says, they are self pollinating. What must I do to get my aubergines in this polycarbonate house to set?

First time growing eggplant. The flower on the eggplant turned brown over a week ago and the stem still looks healthy. Because it sits low it’s hard to tell if there is fruit. How long should I wait from this point? The plants are fed well

I would let it go and see what happens. I've never timed mine to see when I started seeing the fruit after the flower faded. I just left them go.

Are the egg shell for calcium? it takes the shell 3 years to decompose. You could desolve it in vinegar to have the calcium more readily available.

Yes the eggshells are for calcium. The vinegar will kill your plants.

The flowers are not getting pollinated and the plants are getting too much water, which is stressing the plants.

@@carriesgardeningchannel856 I always check the soil before I water so I don't think so. I did just learn to pollinate them but then one I did still fell of from the main stem. I have ties it to a stick now. The night before the last one came off it was strong and showed no signs of falling off yet it was on the ground in the morning.
