After living in Canada for 24 years, I can tell you one thing that the cost of living has more than doubled for general items and tripled for real estate prices in the last 20 years. Newcomers should be aware of the financial issues they may face if they're not bringing enough money. You need atleast C$25K to start with in any major cities. You may have to start with lower level jobs, if you're not in high demand job categories, but eventually you'll come up if you work hard. Real estate prices fluctuate based on every 7 year cycle. 2001, 2008, 2015, and now 2023 were/are the best times to buy houses. The dip now (-20%) in real estate prices will not last, next year it will go up again.

I think situation is much better now than when we came. After a MSc in India, it took me another 4.5 years to get a Canadian CPA to get a decent job. It took 4 years for my wife to get her GP license and 7 years to get her specialist certificate(FRCPC). I don't think newcomers are spending that much of time to get the same qualifications. About cost of things, many of the supplies come from US. US inflation is higher than that of Canada. Till that comes down nothing will change. In May I am going to California for a week. The cost of hotel rooms, parking and rental car is quite unreal. About Canadian weather, the information is available in any grade 6 geography book. Any prospective immigrant should read about it before making the leap. Please don't cry about it after coming here. Canada is not the only country that is cold. Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Northern Germany, Estonia, Lithuania etc. are examples. Even Ireland is cold in winter.

MBA ഫിനാൻസ് കഴിഞ്ഞു എനിക്ക് നാട്ടിൽ കിട്ടുന്ന salary ₹10000 ആണ്. കോമ്പറ്റിഷൻ കൂടുതൽ ഉള്ള കേരള മാർക്കറ്റിൽ തൊഴിൽ സംരംഭം നടത്തുന്നവർക്ക് അത്ര ശമ്പളം തരാൻ ഉള്ള പാങ്കേ ഉള്ളൂ. 10 വർഷം എക്സ്പീരിയൻസ് ഉണ്ട്. എന്റെ ഭാര്യ നല്ല ശമ്പളത്തിൽ ആണ് ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. എന്നേ പോലൊരു ആൾക്ക് അവിടെ കിട്ടാൻ സാധ്യത ഉള്ള കുറഞ്ഞ ശമ്പളം പോലും നല്ലതല്ലേ.

It's not even close to what we have in bangalore. biggest challenge in Canada I faced as a software engineer was getting an interview where in India it's about cracking. it's been 3 months , after numerous applications I got only one interview. Planning to go back to India next month
