They’ll scalp up just about anything. I’ve overheard so many scalpers while on shopping trips going for WWE figures, Funko pops, etc. They could care less what relation a toy has to a franchise. If it’s shiny or says chase on the box, you bet your ass they’ll be at the stores at the break of dawn to raid those pallets.

The case of the metallic/glittering cars happens thanks to the fact that toy vehicle brands use those types of paint for special variants (Thomas take along trains are a good example),and so people are SO used to that to the point that if a toy is metallic,it'll be an 100°/. effective collector magnet

As someone who's been collecting Cars diecast since 2006 at 5 years old (i don't really collect the new stuff now, rather, i try to complete the much older collections), from the second I saw the thumbnail and the title, i knew this take was legit. As mentioned in the video, Radiator Springs McQueen has been around for a long time, along with Cruisin' Lighting McQueen. Both have appeared consistently and quite commonly throughout the late 2000s, and they've even popped up every now and again up to current day (if you want a *real* rarity, look for the Golden Cruisin' Lighting McQueen). I'd also like to point out that the overall quality of these new vehicles is not nearly as good as the classic versions. If you take a 2007 Radiator Springs Lighting McQueen and compare it to its current counterpart, the difference is night and day. One dead giveaway is the way they did the printing, especially in the eyes. They don't look so great, and their texture isn’t very good either. They also use cheaper and lower-quality metal and plastic. If any of you want to buy a Radiator Springs Lighting McQueen or a Cruisin' Lighting McQueen, I recommend looking for one of 2000s variants on Ebay.

Oh man the PS5 situation… that’s a great example. I forgot about that time period, but it’s like you said; they’ve caused way too many problems and more often than not, ruin the fun for the rest. Stores were placing limits on how much they’d receive or sell because of people like them

Yeah it really could happen to any car. I’m surprised it hasn’t really happened with the scavenger hunt cars from 2018/19. I didn’t discuss those in this video since I could understand people thinking those are like hot wheel treasure hunts, but RS McQueen is no excuse.

I think a good parallel here is the Pokemon Cards craze from 2020. While not super rare, the smaller amount of them lead greedy people to mass buy stuff because of the hype. At least people aren’t fighting each other over these cars yet 🤷

I went to target 2 weeks ago and they told me they got in case d and there was this hot wheels scalper that got the McQueen he said it was a super chase but there was no where where it said it was a super chase he said it was a chase because it had shiny paint. I’m glad you did a video on this to let people know that the McQueen is not rare or a super chase but I am glad this version of McQueen is back because it’s one of my favorite paint jobs.

Great video PCP and World of Cars Entertainment. My personal take on this happening is that cars became popular out of nowhere. Sooo many bandwagons. 1. These stupid scalpers are capitalizing off the popularity 2. people who aren't cars collectors are buying Cars because it's popular. Kind of like Stanley cups. People buying cars because its popular right now, but like 2 months from now they won't care and their decants will just be collecting dust, when it could have gone to a collector or a kid who would have actually paid for it. I never found a racing red in stores but that was because of distribution lol but during 2021 the cars community was dead compared to what it is now, so in general racing reds weren't scalped up. The ending of the video brought some relief to me, im glad they're not selling🤣 Hopefully the cars trend dies down sooner than later, this whole thing is reminiscent to Pokemon cards imo. Now you can find them in stores but like a couple of years ago it was empty.

That Stanley cup and Pokémon cards situation are perfect examples of ‘scalpers to the rescue.’ I’ve seen so many chicks lately being fucking posers with that target McQueen backpack out in public and online. I lucky had a Thailand “Radiator Springs” Lightning McQueen without any scalpers knowing at a Local Walmart… When I am hunting for a 75th Jeff Gordon Next Gen diecast… When it comes to my Dream NASCAR authentics… I wasn’t lucky… Especially the throwback Chase Elliot (2023), Throwback William Byron (2023) and Throwback Corey Lajoie (2021)… So didn’t like to wait though which means that I had no choice but to get it on eBay (For a good/decent price)… I hope these stupid scalpers are gone forever and get my hands on the cars first before these losers do… 😢

Yeah people thinking if this car's metallic this car must be a Chase or some kind of special car for Rarity purposes like Hot Wheels it's straight BS because the company wants to make the car the look exactly kind of like the one in the movies and I get it because my queen is metallic and some spots like in Cars 1 at the end of the movie and during the cruise through town and in the third one the Rust eze racing Center McQueen I don't know even if they did it with some Piston Cup racers as well because I noticed that some of them are actually kind of metallic yeah this is a problem because I'm trying to look for that specific lightning McQueen because I used to have one a very very long time ago and I can't seem to find it and when I'm trying to find any of the metallic cars from one of my favorite movies what kind of that help me kind of also get into NASCAR and and I want to get something that brings back a little bit of childhood and I can't find it because people think it's all a Chase especially since it's metallic yeah they're just money because since it's made from Mattel they think that if it's metallic it must be chased just like a Hot wheel in the Disney Cars line doesn't have the mark of Hot Wheels any where on the packaging it just says Mattel Disney Pixar Cars nothing of Hot Wheels even Matchbox because Matchbox also has their Chase so I don't know why people think that if a Disney Pixar car diecast is metallic because it's part of the movie on the way they look think it's some sort of Chase it's straight BS

I live in México but i can go to US quite often and i never find this McQueen because of this problem, fortunatly i find it on mercado libre (like ebay in the US) for like 8.50 including shipping, I would understand if this is really a Chase but it's not and i hate seeing people putting this videos saying is a Chase

@@PistonCupProductions last week mattel restock on case G on all the retailers here, also mercado libre since mattel has there on web page there, i went to Walmart here in México and the day after i bought most of the stuff i need from case G from mercado libre, Walmart put a case G, unfortunatly i came late that day and all the good stuff was gone, including this McQueen, but i don't think its because scalpers, since november or december none of the Walmarts havent get most of the Cases this year and i know it because when i go to Walmart i never see even one Cars from whatever case suppose to be out by that time, i have only see like two or three times from december to today that they put a case of Cars on Walmart México ñ

@@PistonCupProductions mattel has been really Bad distributing Cars here in México since the pandemic, the only time You can find them Frequently is on christmas time when they put "juguetilandia" on Walmart but the rest of the year it is on random times when they restock on any retailer including mercado libre, since november i have only seen like two or three times in My local walmart and other walmarts here in México that restock with only one or two cases of Cars, i now it is true since when a go to Walmart i never find any cars from whatever case is suppose to be out by that time
