Why Are People STILL Moving to Cincinnati Ohio in 2024?!

I moved here 32 years ago for work and have loved it ever since. All three of my kids were born and grew up here. Our catholic community/parish scene has made Cincy very cool. Pleasant Ridge is fantastic and we have great burgers and beer here in Cincy…

We lived there from 2011 to 2016 and of all the places in the US we have lived Cincy is by far the most memorable with a lot of amenities, things to do, places to see, history, events and has the best garage sales, flea markets and antique shops around the area. Cannot wait to get back.

Moved to Dayton for work and have been meaning to go check out Cincinnati. Loving the affordability compared to living in CO before here. Pleasantly surprised by Ohio, gotta love that Midwest hospitality too. Everyone’s been supper cool 🤙

There are a bunch of "cities" townships etc that are ether surrounded or directly border Cincinnati, Norwood, St. Bernard. Delhi Township, Green Township,etc etc etc. it's why Cincinnati looks small by population but then you look at the area in and around the 275 loop and see it's 2+ million. So Google would give you a very misleading population figure for Cincinnati.

Exactly. Cincy has a city pop that's based on roughly 80 square miles. That's deceptive as some cities may have 80+ square miles (Think Cleveland or Pittsburgh - opposite would be Cbus or Houston, etc.) a better stat to look at is MSA. 2.2 Million people.

Born and raised in Cincy but will never go back there to live. But then I despise city life no matter where it is. But as “big” cities go, Cincy is not too bad. There’s lots to do, pro sports teams, Kings Island, and many of the suburbs are very nice.

But Hamilton County has a high property tax rate. Higher than the national and state average. I bought a $73,000 fixer 9 years ago in Cincinnati and paid $2k per year property tax. This year it increased to over $2500 per year. I'm retired now and can't afford it here so I bought in Utah where my property tax is $850 per year. And utilities and Wi-Fi are far less $ in Utah.

Googled "population of cincinnati ohio" and realized the whole video is bs :)

It's because there are several smaller cities inside Cincinnati that aren't incorporated but completely surrounded by Cincinnati. According to Google Cincinnati is the size of Albuquerque, as someone who lives in Cincinnati Albuquerque looks like one of the tiny cities that make up Cincinnati "neighborhoods'. The greater Cincinnati area is 2.3 million and growing rapidly.
