+Eli Dowell Haha...though it's easy to get them confused (all of them use the 3 Slavic colours plus crest details on their top left), all 3 of them do look distinct if you just focus on the main detail of each: Serbia's has a two-headed eagle with a crown, and the it's like an upside-down Russian flag, except the red is a strawberry colour. Both Slovakia and Slovenia have essentially the Russian flag, but Slovakia's flag has 3 blue peaks and a Patriarchal (double) cross, while Slovenia's banner has 3 white peaks with 3 golden stars above them.

4SidedStar It's pretty much just a coincidence because red and white are popular colours when it comes to flags and emblems and whatnot. Poland's flag comes from their old coat of arms, a white eagle on red while Monaco's comes from the ruling house's (House of Grimaldi) coat of arms, which has red and white. Greenland's colours are from the Danish flag, symbolising its ties as a Danish realm. I have no idea about Singapore and Indonesia (likely inspired by Muslim countries like Turkey and Tunisia), but Japan's and Bangladesh have no connection. Heck, they are technically different since Bangladesh's circle is off-center, unlike the Japanese flag.

Flintstoned Well England and Wales were apart of the same kingdom back in the Tudor era. However, even though Henry VIII had a Welsh father he decided to destroy the existence of Welsh culture and history, this worked quite effectively (not entirely though). So by the time the act of union was signed and the union flag was made Wales wasn't considered separate from England and as such wasn't represented on the flag. This lack of representation on the flag has continued to this day :( Maybe with the resurgence of Welsh culture and identity in the 20th century this might be rectified in the future.

Hello Cody, As usual, excelent content, funny video to a topic many people find interesting. However, a small detail on teh Central American flags..... There were 5 original countries splitting from the then called "Vicekingdom of Guatemala ( Central American province), not 4. The fifth, to the far south was Costa Rica ( my own) and it was the only one which did not follow that design, even that it had similar design from 1824 until 1840. Then it added a double sized red stripe in the center and changed the light blue for a deep blue color. Pleas keep your channel gong as it is a way to get facts in a nice way every day!

Actually there is. One of them is Pan-Austronesian colors, the one used by Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore. All of those flags use the colour red and white, all with the same meaning. Red for bravery and white for purity.
