I got mostly shocked when 5 days before the tournament in Mexico i was going to beach center in Stockholm and i saw David and Jonathan exiting the bus and walking. They dont even got own car and beach center isnt very near to the train station. Very humble and very nice guys. Training 2 times a day for 2 hour ( ofc not every day ). They got greate parents too so not so strange they behave so well :)

Speed, low setting and fast, 2nd touch hit, perfection in the setting even on jumping, best defender player in the world. NEW BEACH VOLLEYBALL TECHNICS.

The Swedes have the best body type for their quick and agile style of play. They are not overly muscled and their lighter frame allows for their fast pace plays and makes for better endurance. One weakness I see is if they are up against a very tall hitter that contacts the ball very high Jonatan can have blocking troubles but when they are on their game its hard to stop them.

Anybody know how the swedes communicate the sets? For example if they run their fast and sudden backset. Never see them give handsigns etc.

These 2 killed everyone with the hit on the 2nd pass the defense and of course blocking. Germany, I think, was the only team that made them sweat a little, just a ; little!! 😅😅

There is no rule that stops you tipping on the second touch with a handset. It all became more like indoor with this... But the athleticism to make this happen on the beach is quite something. The Swedes unknowingly created a style only suited for the younger athletes. Before, experience was the main factor, now it's good knees and good technique, and a little bit of character

I'd say that their handsetting contact over on two is much cleaner than most of what we see indoors 😉

I don't think it was unknowingly... Rasmus Jonsson deliberately picked two young players (back then 16yo) to start with this style of playing, knowing it wouldn't work with older ones. We'll have to wait and see how David and Jonatan do when they get older😅

@@MikeAIright that's probably the worst take I've read in a while. The jump setting is adding a new way of playing the game, a lot of teams are adding it into their own style (or at least try to) and for most fans it's incredibly fun to watch. Why take it away? I've yet to hear a player complain about it being "too hard". If the hand setting is clean, let them do it. If not, call a fault - but don't make it illegal.
