I don’t like that they made Malika ( who was in the healthiest relationship on the show) all of a sudden leave her bf to be in a poly relationship then gaslight him for having an issue with it.

I am so sad to see the series end but I love that, even with time cut short, they made sure to give the fans a proper goodbye. I also had some issues with character stuff. Particularly, with Joaquin and Isabella being sort of wedged in as central characters so late in the game. I agree that it felt like they were trying to replace Callie with Isabella. I also just did not care for the Joaquin storyline so much. I did not like the way it pulled Mariana away from her career, the main journey we see her taking. I wanted to see more of her in the tech world. Overall, I still loved the show and I am glad I am not the only one who appreciated how beautifully it was shot! Also, loved how it was not afraid to explore so many different social issues in a such a direct way.

thank youuuu I've been dying for good trouble content i feel like no one is watching this show which is a bummer because, being a recent college grad I really love the after-college drama and being a com sci major I loved seeing mariana (though her friends really bugged me). I haven't watched the fosters lol but I need to check it out!!! loved this review

Melinda thank you for doing this video I had a hard time finding review videos for this show. You touched on a lot of points that have irked me with this show and stuff i love about it. I like you also saw the fosters but I saw it in college and after I graduated. I loved seeing how Mariana and Callie changed as time went on. The other characters are great but I also had issues with Davia, Kelly and Sumi. Davia was more relatable when the actress was more plus sized. I know they're trying to still maintain that part of her character especially from a trauma angle but it doesn't hit the same. The singing parts with her and Dennis, hell the back and forth alone between those two is a lot. Isabella is my least favorite character, and her being prego was such a weak storyline. Hopefully they'll find a way to improve on her in a way that is less out of left field. Finally the social issues are handled well like you said but some more than others. I love the storyline of Mariana and her female coworkers starting their own company. We don't get enough stories of women actually running a business. We get a lot of starts, struggles and then it rockets to instant success. That kind of story is unrealistic and honestly misrepresents women's struggles in the world. Thank you again for doing this video I hope you do an update on part B of season 4.

I was disappointed when Callie left the show. I've only connected with her character and loved experiencing her journey in practicing law. She story arch is the most relatable. Mariana has always been annoying character to me and she's a good side character. The other characters in the show, I do not like - bad writing ultimately. Conflict is contrived and doesn't come across as realistic. Hard to suspend my disbelief most of the time. I agree with you that the first 3 seasons were good. This fourth season should be its final. Without Callie, I can't see any redeeming storyline that would save viewership. Good review though lol

I completely agree! I haven't even touched the new episodes that have come out recently because I'm just not drawn to the show as much as I was. Callie was my favorite and I think the show will lack a lot with her gone.

She is returning in season 5.

Wait. I'm watching season 4 now. She is there. 😳

She was taken off as a main character. She makes a couple guest appearances, but won't be a main character for the season.

To me SWITCH AT BIRTH was the best drama on ABC FAMILY.

@@MelindaCore It did alot of different things that other tv dramas have never done before. It broke alot barriers and thats what made this drama standout from the others plus it also based on a true story. It suffered a little in seasons 4 and 5 and I wasn't completely satisfied with the finale but was good.

I know this is an older video now but did you happen to get fully caught up with the show? No spoilers as to storylines but Callie does happen to come back in later seasons for guest appearances and they wrap her story up which is nice. The sucky thing though is the show ended up getting cancelled after season 5. They did let them wrap up storylines but the finale feels rushed as they were already finished filming when given the news of the cancellation. They also thought they were getting a season 6 so the finale was a season finale at first. The network did let them film additional scenes to wrap things up but like I said everything feels rushed because they basically explain in the additional scenes what’s going on with characters now to wrap up storylines but it also sucks because they weren’t given extra time to act the scenes out to flesh things out more so it’s satisfying because they tell where the story went with the characters to wrap everything up but also not satisfying because things could have been fleshed out more. They were only given an hour and a half finale with commercials which winds up being an hour via Hulu. I’m glad the network gave them the chance to wrap things up without any major cliffhangers left but they could have let them have a 2 hour finale to let them flesh things out even more and end it on a better note with it more fleshed out so it wouldn’t have been so rushed near the end. I agree with everything you said in your video. I loved both the Fosters and Good Trouble but I love the Fosters a bit more. I just feel like in some ways the fosters was better done. I enjoyed both shows though and I actually hope they do get to do something more with Good Trouble in the future like maybe a tv movie or mini series to kind of redo the finale a bit in a way. Both the Fosters and Good Trouble are both fully now on Hulu in their entirety.

I couldn't agree with you more! I just finished watching the whole series and agree that everything felt a bit rushed. They spend nearly 2 seasons on Joaquin's story and I feel like they really rushed that ending. And don't get me wrong, so glad Mariana and Evan ended up together, but him getting all his memories back happened so fast. I wish we could have gotten another season to fully flush out everybody's stories, but I'm glad it all ended well for all the characters.

@@MelindaCoreI agree. I feel like if they could have gotten another season like they wanted and were expecting they could have fleshed a lot of things out more and it would have been more satisfying. I am glad for what we did get though and they didn’t just let everything end on a cliffhanger as it would have if they hadn’t been given those few extra scenes at the end.

Hi! Do you know if there's a review of Good Trouble with spoilers or a full recap of the series so far?

I came across Good Trouble before Fosters so I ended going backwards :) it was amazing! I love the longer seasons that Good Trouble offers compared to it's competition....drives me nuts when I am done with a season after only 8 episodes. I love when they tell a conclusion then go backwards to tell the story of that episode. Everything about this show made me feel like I could relate to them and it wasn't too unrealistic or fairy tale like. I'm glad the weight loss wasn't just bugging me....but yes kuddos for addressing some of it. Agree about Isabella and Kelly (which btw doesn't even show up in Google search, top 20 characters you have to dig to find her) I don't like how she is portrayed in season 4 as boy crazy....and I'm going to miss Callie too! season 4 won't be the same. I will say the Fosters made me have a different perspective on the two girls, Brandon and Jamie. I love the issues discussed and how it definitely fell well in timing with what's going on today. And not too strongly to cause drama with the show in real life. Which complimented Fosters.
@MelindaCore2 жыл бұрын
Yes, absolutely! Agree with everything you said! I am also glad that it is more episodes in a season. I agree that 8 episodes is too short for a season these days, so it's nice to get so much story out of it!

I dunno, I like the premise. She show gets a bit too woke for me cuz the drama feels happens just to make points rather than actual things you would believe the characters do. I like season 3 the most so far cuz of the Kathleen Gale character, she is great and I was really craving some star power in the show 😂. I liked Callie but she was kinda annoying sometimes. I dunno how I feel about her leaving but her storyline is more interesting than anything else so mmm well see.
