Is God not clear enough, or are there so many denominations because there are so many people? Frank reveals that the issue isn’t so much Protestant or Catholic, but something far more serious.

John 17:11, 17:21, 17:22. Jesus prayed just before he was arrested. He wanted us to be united in the One Holy Spirit of divine love, the only Spirit there is that connects loving hearts. But man has decided that what we believe makes us superior to what others believe. This is why there are 200+ denominations of Christianity. To our Father in heaven it is much more important that we love Him and live by faith than that we have perfect understanding. And this makes sense because how can you have a sit down discussion about opposing views without love for one another?

He asks them to stand if they needed Jesus, 20,000 stood up, He told them he would pray for them & go to church Sunday, & walked away. not a good ending. Because every other religion is false. There’s no point for the devil to attack a false religion. He knows the God of the Bible is true and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. He knows the Bible is the true word of God so he attacks the truth with cults, lies and confusion. It’s also why no other name gets peoples attention more than that of Jesus Christ and why the gospel offends more than anything else. Because they’re the truth.

First off there is a difference between a denomination and a cult. A cult, in basic Christian terms, means a group that doesn't hold to the basic things that actually make us Christian's to begin with. Salvation by grace through faith. Not of works. The divinity of Christ. Salvation in Jesus Christ alone. If there is a group that doesn't hold to those teachings then they are a cult (i.e. Jehovah Witnesses; mormon; 7th day adventists, Hebrew roots, BHI). Second of all, then you get to the issue of actual denominations and they are caused by 1 satanic influences and 2 the flesh. Both of these things get in the way of Gods will and purpose.

I agree with your statement… but I would add to the list of reasons for different denominations. Interpretations. Some interpret the Bible in one way while another group interpret it another way. For instance, speaking in tongues. Some churches believe it is still an active gift of the Holy Spirit and others do not believe that. The Bible doesn’t say specifically one way or another. There’s a lot of different interpretations on many biblical topics

I always tell new believers to start with Paul's teaching over the 4 gospels due to so much legalism vs. today's church which is in Christ through faith & not of works of legalism. Not to ignore the gospel, but get an understanding/foundation that the gospels were void of gentiles & were for Jews. He came unto His own (Jews).

Paul Rock. - Good advice Paul. The gospel is explained in Romans and could only be explained and taught after the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ who is the firstborn from among the dead and the source of the 'new creation' in Christ Jesus. Well actually the scripture say faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.but also the scripture says that God saves us that he gives us a new heart on that love is righteousness and hates unrighteousness. Churches necessarily don't cause confusion it is the churches that do not preach truth and someone who does not know truth when they hear both sides it seems. What we believe and what is true should come from the word of God. And hear me out but the scripture specifically says that no one seeks God. So someone naturally will not want to change from within change has to come from outside of us meaning God has to change us. God saves us regenerates us brings us to repentance and faith in Christ. But I would say thatif someone interprets the scriptures correctly they would be in one Accord with another sometimes different interpretations happen. But we should always be on one Accord with the fundamentals of the faith. Does this make sense?

If anyone of you really want Truth you have to search for it, advice dont go to church, they have some of the truth, but half the truth is still a lie 💯📖 facts are that the Torah is part of the new covenant, look up Jeremiah 31:33 in the Hebrew, book of Hebrews quotes that very scripture, Messiah himself said heaven and earth would pass before anything perished from the Torah Mathew 5:17-20, Messiah kept the Torah perfectly and said follow Me i have laid before you the perfect example, sadly people want to take away from the Father's perfect Torah, dont fall for it, NO ONE has the authority to do so , not even the Son that's why he said I do nothing of myself, of course we don't keep the Torah to earn salvation, it is the Father's instructions and will for our lives, we can only be justified through the Blood of Messiah Yeshua , but do we continue in sin that grace may abound GOD FORBID Romans 6:1-2, do we make void the Torah through faith GOD FORBID we ESTABLISH the Torah Romans 3:31, the whole point of the Torah is to point out sin, if you get rid of it we no longer are aware of these sins the Torah points out, may YAH bless you all 🙏💯♥️☝️📖

So we unite under the fact that we believe in grace? We unite under truth. The Catholic Church teaches men’s traditions, praying to dead saints, worshiping the pope, confessing sins to a priest, Martin Luther and all the other Protestant reformers called them Catholic system antichrist because they murdered millions of true bible followers during the Middle Ages. Trust, we want nothing to do with that system or any system that uses the political system to force its version of religion on people. The gospel is that Jesus died, paid the penalty for sin, got victory over sin and death. We now must trust him, repent,strive to live righteously as he did and trust that we have power through him to do so and because of our love for him obey everything he’s commanded. If we fall, his grace covers us as long as we get back up and keeping striving for righteousness. If a denomination is not teaching repentance, obedience, love, and grace and worship to no man by God and his son Jesus Christ then they are not teaching the gospel and we can’t unite with the denomination.

They share the essentials? Really? There work based Salvation is the very same false gospel that Paul said people were condemned for. To him who worketh not but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith shall be counted as righteousness. If it is by faith it is not by works if it is by works it is not by faith. I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. - Gal 1:6-9 What is the Gospel Paul preached? For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. - Romans 1:16 This is the definition of the Gospel with its contents being the death, burial, and reserrection of Christ for our sins. Paul says it is the power of God unto Salvation to ANYONE who BELIEVES not anyone who works.

Nick_7 Can I ask you two questions on this topic? 1. If you do not believe something, can you make yourself believe? 2. Is accepting Christ as your saviour not an action, or a "work", that you must perform in order to be saved?
@n.holt7
@n.holt7 4 жыл бұрын
@@hansdemos6510 1. I am not quite sure what your first question is actually asking. I assume however u are probably saying that belief is a work. But yes belief is a choice not a work in biblical terms. 2. Faith is receiving the free gift of Salvation. If I give u a gift then u must do what? Receive it. U can reject it or receive it but u cannot work for or earn it or else it wouldn't be a gift. Faith is not considered a work as it is directly contrasted with works in the Bible. Whenever the Bible speaks of works it means "deeds of the Law." There was no argument back then saying that if u did enough good works u could get to heaven. The argument was that if u kept the Law well enough then u could be considered righteous in God's sight. Paul corrected this idea by saying that "by deeds of the Law shall no man be justified in His(God's)sight." But if u have faith it is credited as righteousness. "To him who worketh not but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, it shall be credited as righteousness." James makes it even more clear than Paul by saying "He who keeps the whole Law yet stumbles at one point is guiltu of all." The Law cannot save bc u would have to be completely perfect to obtain righteousness through it, this is why Christ came and died while we were yet sinners. So no one can keep the Law well enough to be saved so God saves those who believe. Pls understand that it isn't the believing that even saves one, God does all the saving. But it is by faith we receive God's gift and gain access unto the grace wherein we now stand. So when we say that u cannot work for your Salvation we are referring to the inability to do anything to earn it. It is there and anyone can receive it by faith or reject it in unbelief. Make sense? So following this if the Law of God which showed men what righteousness is cannot actually make one righteous before God then it logically follows that no good works can either. Just place your faith in Him and He will make u righteous. If u want to call faith a work bc u have to make a choice u can but that isn't what the Bible means by works and it is nothing more than semantics at that point. The fact is good works cannot save but faith can. Simple enough? So yes faith is a prerequisite for Salvation, not to earn it but to recieve it.

@@n.holt7 Thanks for responding. 1. I was not saying that belief is a "work" (that was more question 2). I do not believe in any deity. I know I can become convinced of some uncertain proposition when I am presented with enough evidence for it. But I find I have little or no influence on this feeling of being convinced. Believing means that you do not know something for certain but that you are feeling convinced nonetheless; there may be some hard evidence, but by definition it is not enough to say that you "know" something, or to overwhelmingly convince each and everybody. This means that "believing" cannot be a choice. It certainly doesn't feel that way to me, and almost every testimony I have heard from believers, regardless of their religion, has been that they first felt an emotional conviction or some religious experience, and only then decided to declare for their religion. If it is not a choice, it would be unreasonable to be judged on your ability to believe, either by your fellow human beings, or by the deity you are unable to believe in. In the case of Christianity, it would be unjust if God sent me to hell for not doing something that I am incapable of. 2. You said: "Faith is receiving the free gift of Salvation. If I give u a gift then u must do what? Receive it. U can reject it or receive it..." which is exactly my point: I must perform some kind of action (receiving or "rejecting" in your words), which is equivalent to doing some kind of "work" in order to "earn" the rewards the gift entails. The semantic trick that "works" should only refer to actions in pursuit of the old law becomes irrelevant when Jesus refers to himself as the "fulfillment of the law". For the problems that "faith" brings with it, I refer to 1. above. I will add to this that if faith, as you say, is a gift, you cannot blame someone who has not been offered this gift for not having it.

@@hansdemos6510 I am well aware that u do not believe in a deity. However your definition of believing is quite wrong. There are two definitions of believing and neither is just being convincted of something. I nor any serious Christian I know bases what they believe off of a feeling as u put it. To believe can mean to accept something as true. In this first definition u can indeed know and believe at the same time. I know the Law of gravity exists and I believe in it as well. When I say I believe in the Law of gravity I am saying that I accept the Law of gravity as true. The second form is what we mean by faith or believing the Gospel. That type of belief is trust. Once again u can know something and still trust in it. I know that their are bullet proof vests but knowing becomes trusting when I put myself in front of a bullet to protect someone in a bullet proof vest. By definition belief is a choice, whether u accept something as true or trust in something that is a choice u must make. I understand that people have feelings and emotions and maybe that is why they believe but they still had a feeling and then chose to believe based on those feelings. I am not going to say i have no feelings sense everyone does have some sort of feelings but that is not what I base my faith on and to say I do would be a straw man. Your next part logically follows the first and I agree. The problem is belief is a choice and somehow I have the idea that just bc people have feelings they must be incapable of rejecting those feelings and choosing something else. If u believe that u cannot choose something inspite of your feelings then u contradict my every day experience and hace no evidence of this. U have made a wide leap from someone has convinction to they have no ability to choose. Where in the world did that conclusion even come from?

Faith without works is a dead faith because the lack of works reveals an unchanged life or a spiritually dead heart. There are many verses that say that true saving faith will result in a transformed life, that faith is demonstrated by the works we do. How we live reveals what we believe and whether the faith we profess to have is a living faith.

Jesus Christ have already said that there is One LORD One Faith , and One Baptism. No One comes to The Father unless they come by Him First. All these Dominations are man made. Apostle Paul wrote that the Gospel of Jesus Christ are not made of the thing's which do appear ? Or isn't built with men's hands ? Men take upon themselves teacher's having an itching ears. For it is written that the Word of GOD is not of one's own personal philosophies or one's own flawed interpretations of understanding. Apostle Paul wrote that Wisdom is the Principle thing so get Wisdom , but in all of your getting , get Understanding ! Because GOD's Word is not the Author of confusion ! If a man really wants GOD to give him Wisdom and Understanding in the deep thing's of GOD then GOD knows one's heart and mind if he really wants it. Then GOD will give you Wisdom and Understanding , a person have to seek GOD out and to keep fervent in prayer and if not then that person will alway's will be blind and will be lead by other's and by there own feelings and emotions.

“If you go to my Church you know you are in the right place.” That’s what Luther said. That’s what Calvin said. That’s what Zwingli said. That’s what the Anabaptists said. That’s what Thomas Cranmer said. That’s what John Knox said. That’s what all the founders of human-created “Churches” say. They all said it and they all believed that they have the right interpretation of the Bible and anybody who differs is wrong. “By their fruits you shall know them.” And the fruits of the Protestant Reformation are division, division and more division. “Conservative Catholics have more in common with conservative Protestants than they do with liberal Catholics.” That may be true but that’s not the issue. The Catholic Church has only one official teaching. You’ll find it all in The Catechism of the Catholic Church. But the official teaching of evangelical Protestant Churches differs considerably. Calvinism is quite different from Lutheranism. And they both differ from the teachings of Zwingli. The simple answer to the question, “Why are there so many different denominations?” is that the doctrine, the Bible Alone, doesn’t work. As soon as Luther created the doctrine there were many different interpretations. “How do you know which one is the right one?” Well, for a start, any Church teaching ‘the Bible alone’ can’t be the right one. The doctrine of the Bible alone is not to be found anywhere in the Bible. Sure people preaching ‘the Bible alone’ CLAIM there are passages in the Bible which support the doctrine but they are still to actually find one which is conclusive. And notice how St Paul wrote letter to the Corinthians, Thessalonians, Ephesians, etc. He did not write letters to a particular denomination in Corinth, etc. St Paul totally condemned the idea of Christians being divided. So creating different denominations is anti-Scriptural.

Well the question was worded improperly to begin with but what denominations are needs to be clarified first. Then we go to Gods word to discover the truth. Catholics, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons (the three mentioned in the question) all use extra biblical sources to come up with their doctrine. That's why they are so off on it. Most of the rest of the divisions between denominations are small until you get to the legalistic ones. Then law vs. grace becomes the next big issue. Jesus is God (John 1:1, John 8:24). Jesus is the everlasting Father (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus is the Ancient of Days (Daniel 7:9-10). Jesus is the Alpha and Omega (Revelation 1). Jesus is God manifested in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16) Jesus is the Father and the Son. Mary was a virgin and it was the seed of God’s spirit that made her pregnant, that’s when he became the Son, not before. Contrary to popular beliefs in Christianity, the orthodox trinity is a lie invented by the Romans to appease the citizens of many pagan religions within the vast Roman Empire that believed in 3 Gods. Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is ONE Lord (Deuteronomy 6:4). And Jesus answered him, the First of all commandments is, Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is ONE Lord. Mark 12:29 I could cite dozens more verses to support this. Sadly, the trinity stops many Muslims and Jews from becoming Christians because they know, and they are correct, because the OT is super clear that the Lord our God is ONE Lord. God is triune in nature and so is man. God made man is His image. I am body, soul and spirit. God is Father, Word and Holy Ghost. One Spirit, one Lord, one God and Father of all (Ephesians 4:4-6).

I perceive that the reason there are so many denominations is because of rationalization of their faith narrative. We can see that each denomination from Catholics groups to any protestant and nondenominational churches rationalize their beliefs through attempting to make sense of their belief through some doctrine according a book, a priest or church, or a study with out ever consorting with God. Many people read many commentaries and books to attempt to understand scripture and make their own understanding and therefore have different denomination and groups that develop hence Lutheranism, Calvinism, Catholicism, Orthodox, Presbyterian, Church of Christ, ect. This in tern creates division because all denominations think they are the correct one to follow because they have rationalized their belief through man made thought. I have seen that a person can make up any belief they want from the bible to fit a certain narrative by connecting what ever "evidence" they want in a way that makes something believable. For example why Catholic bibles and Protestant bibles are different. Catholics believe the 7 extra books are inspired and Conan while protestant's don't have the 7 books. Both side have strongly rationalized for believing their own narrative even if some statements that might be made are clear gap fillers in the faith. A second example is the original church question. Catholics, Orthodox and Church of Christ all claim to be the original church and all have evidence for justifying their faith even if the rationalization may be actually false. Therefore when people find ways to make rationalized evidence in a denomination sound correct with an endless cycle of recreating the narrative, we have many denominations that seek after man and his knowledge and not God who is one spirit, one mind and one body not divided into denominations or groups and in those groups divided into individual beliefs that differ from one another.

I think the problem is not that the Pastors like Osteen preach about prosperity, is that people only listens to the nice words. He claims God wants you prosper and I definitely believe that, but he also says over and over about the value of hard working and the value of praying and believing even in the most difficult times. I think people just get carried away with the "show" part of his preaching. I'm one of those who believes that "whatever" makes people come into faith is good as long as the faith comes from a Bible based speech. I'm one of those who loves to listen to Joel Osteen but by no means I would think God will give me everything just because I believe in Him. Anyways, that's just my opinion, I don't have a better answer than Turk, this man has devoted his life to try to answer this difficult questions from people who don't want to believe so they have no accountability

@lary Snw it's your point of view. I myself don't think I'm right, but I keep seeking God and Joel Osteen has been a great inspiration in my christian life. I don't listen to him so often now days, but to say he's a charlatan is a little too much on the rough side. You can't make people look for God by accusing them of being siners and then trowing fire trough your tongue to make them feel guilty (while you feel superior). In my personal case I have grown in my faith by listening to many pastors like him, but I don't idealize them, I just listen carefully and try to do better every day. Maybe this is not enough, but it's certainly way better than where I was 10 years ago. Faith is a very personal matter, and each person has to look for God, hopefully this happens before we die.

If the reason why there are so many denominations is because of political beliefs, then what explains the separation of two denominations who hold similar, if not, identical political beliefs? I think to some degree it comes down to man’s interpretation of the Bible-biblical hermeneutics, if you will. If there remains one absolute truth, yet we are finely divided by the truth of the Bible as we see it, then who’s the one who holds the real truth? I think that may be the better question to ask.

The true reason why there are so many different denominations is because the Truth was defiled early on in the "church". Being under Roman rule, the Believers of Christ were persecuted for decades (apostles like Paul and Peter). However, a Roman ruler named Constantine decreed Christianity the national "religion", ripping from the authentic Faith and mixing it with the Pagan beliefs and traditions (hence the Roman Catholic church). From there, the practices of the original pagan traditions were banished and replaced with replicas (ie: Christmas, December 25th). Centuries later, a man named Martin Luther separated himself from the Roman Catholic church (they proclaimed that only they could communicate with the Father). From hence came the Lutheran faith. So on so forth.

Simple way to clarify is doctrine . 1. Self interpretation: people don't compare scriptures with scriptures. Remember even Satan uses scriptures to try and tempt God in Luke 4. But Jesus answered with scriptures 2. We don't search for sound doctrine. We don't want to grow. Paul always tells to study. (2 Tim 2:15) 3. Did you know that Paul and his brothers and sisters in Christ in his ministry like Timothy and all are taught so that they agreed, are in the same mind with his doctrine God gave to Paul. Philippians 4:2 4. Wanna find the right church? Follow the group with Spiritual fruits because God is in them. So far that group is A BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH. Fundamentalist, Baptist , KJV only, Pre-Rapture and dispensational church where you get clear truth no matter what you feel about the truth. 5. Walk with the spirit and he will lead you to all truth. Jesus says it and even Paul says it.
