As much as I agree with that, it's not the root of the issue. Education does play a part in how incredibly stupid the general population of America has become, but you also have to factor in the absolutely insane sense of entitlement and media and social entertainment factors. America has become a country where so many people, especially young people, think that they are entitled to whatever they want without needing to work hard to achieve it. They're also completely enamored by celebrity and allow said celebrity to basically dictate to them how they should live their lives and what they should believe in. That's the primary reason why Trump got in the White House. When you add to that the fact the many people want instant gratification for everything you see the rise of cruel and shocking behavior because it can be posted online and instantly be viewed by thousands or hundreds of thousands or even millions and give these people that instant sense of fulfillment and accomplishment. In a nutshell, America has become an excessively shallow and materialistic country and merely revamping the education system will do very little to resolve that.
