Why are vibration fixtures so important?

As a contract vibration testing lab, we get asked this question all the time.
This video provides a visual demonstration to explain the importance vibration fixtures.
The connecting fixture can create uncertainty that the specified vibration environment will be applied to your device within the specified tolerances. In these cases it’s important to ensure that the connecting fixture doesn’t alter the specified vibration environment as it transitions from the shaker table surface to the mounting points on your test device.

Hello Team, What if we use multiple control inputs (ideally at unit mtg location)? I am assuming that using this, we can completely eliminate fixture resonance and check effect of vibration profile directly on unit. Pls revert if this correct.

This approach will not eliminate fixture resonances if there are resonances within the test frequency range. It may bring the inputs within tolerance if averaging control is used, but only if the resonances are not excessive in the first place.
