Should we be worried that Din Grogu is now being trained by a bounty hunting Mandalorian and not a Jedi like Luke Skywalker? What is going to prevents this little guy from going to the dark side?

I don't... really see the issue. People (including in-universe) seem to forget that he's a literal toddler for his species; he has no concept of good or evil or vegetarianism. He's a baby, he sticks things into his mouth. He takes things without asking because A.) he doesn't comprehend it's wrong yet and B.) he can't talk yet either. It's why i am always a bit perplexed when Luke or Din are trying to teach him things - the little man is going to spend the next 50 years learning not to eat his own toes, you're rushing him a bit.

As a parent, I think it’s more like a maturity issue than the Darkside or the potential to be evil. Many children do minor things like stealing or lying if they really want something, or don’t want something bad enough. Even though they know it’s wrong they do it because they can. Grogu just has a super power that enables him to do what he wants to and he just needs proper guidance to learn that can doesn’t always mean should.

I think din brings grogu with him to protect him. That was the main point of the first episode when he saved grogus life. And it’s why the events of the first two seasons happen. Protect grogu and take him to his people the Jedi. Mando can handle himself and yet so can grogu by the time the third season came around which is allegedly years after the second season ended. They need each other, and mando feels like and eventually becomes grogus dad officially because he believes grogu deserves to live the same way the mandalorian that saved din on his home world when he was a kid decided this kid deserved to live as this is the way of their people. So to summarize he brings grogu with him everywhere he goes because this is the way.

Simple solution: find a Matukai adept to train him the ways of the Force. (Assuming you can convince Disney to make them canon again.) Badass Force Sensitive warrior culture centered in the light side. Doesn't have any of the baggage of the Jedi, and, best part, in their 3000 plus year history a grand total of zero Matukai have fallen to the Dark Side. I call them perfect! They can also unlock Force potential in practically anyone who has a pulse or the xeno equivalent thereof so Din can learn right alongside Grogu.

It appears to me Yoda's species as a whole are little more than force Cukoos. They drop their babies off with a foster species to raise. It's why nearly every organic that has physical contact with grogu begins to care for him. It's part of their racial force powers. It's why, under the leadership of grand master Yoda the lack of attachment was over emphasized, he had an innate lack of attachment. It's what stops them from falling to the "dark side", without attachments to anchor to, grogu will simply bend to the will of the force. The "light side" is bending to the will of the force, the "dark side" not the will of the force.

Sure Din will definitely keep Grogu from falling to the dark side… but what about after he dies. We all tend to forget that Din, in the grand scheme of things in Grogu’s life, will only take up about a footnote of it in the end. With Grogu being so attached to Din, his inevitable death will leave Grogu susceptible unless Grogu creates new bonds but with who? If it’s the other Mandalorians that only creates a bigger risk for him to be influenced into taking on a more combative and war-like mindset that Din never truly took on. It’d have to be people outside of the Mandalorians so that Grogu doesn’t end up being surrounded by people that only want him to grow up as a warrior first and foremost, Din himself doesn’t really have much knowledge on the history of the galaxy or even the Mandalorians themselves as a whole, only the necessary stuff he was given. For all intents and purposes, the Children of Watch only raised Din to fight while only providing the bare bones education in other fields like math and science so that he’s not completely useless outside of a fight, and you can tell with how he acts outside of combat. His social skills are bare bones, he knows no language other than basic and Mando’a, he has legitimately no negotiation skills, etc. Some of the things I mentioned he only learns when he’s out bounty hunting, learning on the fly and gaining worldly experience. At least with the Jedi, the younglings are provided a full education as well as an environment that allows them to develop in more ways than fighting. The fact that Jedi aren’t composed entirely of humans or regularly deal with non-human species also allows many opportunities for diversity and social development as they regularly deal with members of different races and species. The best part is that even when a Jedi leaves the order, so much of what the Jedi taught them will help them navigate society properly with Ahsoka being a major example of this.

@wizardwolf1020
@wizardwolf1020 Жыл бұрын
@@angelohowardii8907 you have a point but then again that most likely is all from his time as a bounty Hunter and not things the Children of the Watch taught him. The Hutts are like, the de facto crime families in Star Wars so it makes sense that bounty hunters would learn the language since they’ll be part of the criminal underworld. And Bounty Hunters are often forced to take to handle things in a less outright combative way. They often operate as assassins and bodyguards rather than straight up muscle that brute force through everything. This sometimes forces them to have to go incognito or be subtle cause they don’t want to make a scene and alert targets. But again, that’s all stuff he would learn from the bounty Hunter profession and not the Mandalorians who would often be too proud to take such routes at times. Don’t forget that rather than going down and talking to the Jawas for taking apart his ship (which is technically his own fault) he just starts shooting them and expects that to resolve everything when it actually kind of made things worse.

To be fair to baby Gogurt, they were taking her to have her eggs fertilized by the husband, right? That was their goal? So they were like the chicken eggs and such us humans eat. So this specific act doesn't make me think he could be evil, given his behavior his species seems to be a bit animalistic compared to us and eats whatever he sees as food. As far as the stealing, I have a 2 year old niece, and I'm sure some parents can verify this. If a toddler wants something they're just gonna grab it and they try to eat everything 😂 also perhaps if their species has a native planet, it might be pretty rough and a "survive at all cost" type of place. Something like when he force choked Cara Dunn when her and Din Djarin were arm wreslting concerns me more given it was forbidden by the Jedi and considered specifically a dark side ability.

Yeah, of course he has some dark side. He's a toddler for his species. Toddlers are chaos gremlins. Toddlers have knee-jerk reactions to big adult emotions in little bodies that they've never dealt with before. So, everything feels like it's a nuclear explosion in their heads and bodies that makes them want to pound whatever hurt them/angered them into the dirt. Emotions are bombs they don't how to diffuse. Even the good ones that feel great, like chasing birds just to run and see them fly, or playing with the line dividing rope. They don't have the mental maturity to recognize those emotions, or know the techniques of self control. As a child, I would have absolutely been a darkside Jedi if I had Force powers. Owning every one of the people who bullied me (in childhood and adulthood) was a dream. Using the Force to lift a car out of a parking space I was going to park in before someone swooped in for the snipes would be epic. 100% honest with you, I would do it. I would think twice about it, weight the pros and cons, but if my dysregulated ADHD/autistic emotions were high enough, I'd do it knowing while doing it that it wasn't be the best approach. I wouldn't hurt anyone in that scenario. I'd just move the car about a block away. Honestly, it's amazing any of us survived beyond toddler years. It's incredibly good that most humans are programmed not to murder their young. If Grogu wants something to eat that looks tasty, he'll think, 'oo, I want that' and take it without caring about about any consequences. He took the cookies in that school because he wanted them. And suffered barfing them up later because of it. He'll hesitate in the future to indulge that much in tasty snacks, but he'll do it again. Of course he will. He's a kid. He might know it'll make him sick, but the compulsion to do it anyway because they taste good is stronger than restraint. Heck, adults do that. We know eating six tacos is going to make us hate our lives later, but there are times when life sucks so much that it makes us say, "Screw it." But Grogu does recognize good and bad concepts, just not applied to specific situations. Like the eggs. His species may eat them, so when he found them, he was probably like, "Oh thank god. Real food!" Grogu learns enough to recognize bad reactions. He didn't eat the frog because the other kids in the village he made friends with were upset by it. He felt apologetic and put the frog back even though he wanted a tasty snack. Or those two mandalorians fighting over a game. He steps in to stop them. He doesn't want to see infighting among his people. He could have learned that from his life in the Jedi Temple, or from Luke. He's a Mandalorian being raised around their culture, and with Din's influence. Din isn't exactly a pillar of parenting. :) Teaching him right and wrong is going to force him to think twice about his words and actions in front of Grogu. Din has a hard road ahead of him. Thankfully he's got a village to help him raise his kid. He's gonna need it.

Not cannibalism. Unless Grogu is the same species as the frog (amphibian not reptile btw) Also, they were unfertilized eggs. So,.... unless you call eating unfertilized chicken eggs cannibalism or unless you're strictly vegan, you're also a cannibal too

They aren't fertilized yet. Still wrong, but not cannibalism. Also, he is a toddler, so he isn't fully able to understand right and wrong yet. Children that age grabbing candy and food that isn't theirs and eating it happens. They have to be taught not to do it and they have to grow up and mature before they gain the ablity to understand right and wrong.

The eggs were never alive. The eggs were being brought to the father so he could fertilize them. This is no different than you eating chicken eggs.

OK snatching food is just a sign of immaturity. Given that Grogu could have crushed the windpipes of Godeon and the praetorean redshirts and instead only acted defensively I'd say he did ok.
