Perhaps you would have to factor the fact that the kind of public that Arknights appeals to actually likes to use their critical thinking a little bit more than the average common gambling addict. The fact that Arknights is not as predatory as other big gatcha names is very likely a big factor for those that can see through the usual kind of psychological manipulation that most gatchas use. Moreover considering Arknights isn’t exactly your usual eye candy game most of its player base is there for the gameplay aspect (or gameplay and story) which depends on operator variety which in turn affects gameplay enjoyability, meaning they won’t stay if you make it too hard to get the elements that make the game shine.

AK has a 12 members team, while Genshin and HSR have a 4 members team. AK also has a lot more types of characters that must be used for specific maps (ranged / melee restrictions, air / land units, arts / physical dmg etc.), while some setups in genshin like hyperbloom just evaporate all content. Making the pulls "cheap" and the rates "high" wasn't just yostar being generous towards the gambling addicted, it was so that you wouldn't have to play for literal years to be able to build strong teams!

@@64inkblots Just as a heads up, we always get around 50 pulls during the events with sparkable limited characters every 3 months (24 free pulls daily, 12 from event OP, 5 from the event store, 3-5 from event milestones + extras), so you should not try to save for a full 300 if you're sparking. I also personally do not recommend sparking within your first year of playing Arknights as a F2P, since you miss out on core & meta characters that could be more helpful for your account than the limited ones. Since you're already in this deep, best to ride it out through Il Siracusano, but I wouldn't do it for the Sui event. (Do save for the MH collab though, since they ain't coming back)

Arknights doesn't have "high" rates. I think it's more appropriate to call them "fair" rates and it should be the gold standard of gacha games. For comparison, I refuse to spend money on Genshin and don't even plan on playing HSR. Generally, the more predatory the game, the more I refuse to spend money on or even play it. But for Arknights I don't mind spending some money, their rates are fair enough and it makes the dollars you do spend a lot more worthwhile, plus there's so many more character skins on Arknights than on Genshin, like what is Hoyoverse even doing lmao.

I need say only one thing: *_LIMBUS COMPANY_* only people who "love" low rates are bitches thirsting over their waifus in shit like genshin, azur, nikke or what not of this kind, as it makes them fell better knowing less people have them. But these 2, Ark and Limbus, brought people to it due to their unique promises: respecting one's time investment, and providing _actual_ gameplay with better facilitates the gacha aspect of "differing options" rather than "this rarer stat stick is bigger than this less rare one" everything else seems to be doing. Not to mention, Limbus is being _extremly_ generous with both rates and resources, yet it stands fine. Albeit that one is backed by sales of previous games and the funny sandwich shop so it can do whatever the fuck it wants and as some people down here said: if something is actually fair, people might be more inclined to spend money out of respect, with includes me. Only times I spent money on micros was in fact, Arknights and Limbus, in one some gold rock packs when I needed it and the monthly card, in the other the season pass, with isn't even neccesary in the long run. But I simply wanted to. so no. lowering rates is a very bad idea that won't help with anything. In fact I know they are doing the opposite with the blue banner and certs soon enough, so they kinda go up due to less dilution.

Playing Hoyoverse games is literally Stockholm syndrome manifest. Glad I'm moving away from it. In all seriousness, there should be a competitor that could at least compete With Genshin (Hoyo) and get as big or at least relatively relevant and set a new standard for gacha monetization. The closest is PGR vs Honkai, which is better in general based on my experience but isn't as big as Honkai. The industry and consumers shouldn't normalize the atrocious and ultra predatory rates of Hoyoverse, specifically the likes of Genshin's weapon banner.

What an L take like god-damn, just focus for a second. It's quite simple to know why Genshin is more popular than Arknights. First of all, gameplay is easier to understand for a typical person and also it's visually more engaging. Running and destroying everything with funny elemental combos is way more simple and graphically engaging than placing few waifus/husbandos that shoot/slash/punch some goofy ahh reunion mooks, hounds with some radio on its back, some black-ish slimes and small drones (and that's what you really do for first chapters. The first enemy that even looks interesting is Junkman and he barely counts). This shit just falls, explodes and melts until later stages compared to the near endless beautiful exploration of Mondstadt. Also Genshin has 3D while arknights didnt even had Live2D for a long, long time. Second of all, Genshin had better marketing and it kinda stuck in peoples minds. Arknights had ass marketing and i found this game by accident. I am glad i did but i dont blame anybody who doesnt know about it while genshin is basically embedded in anime gacha game culture. Third of all, there arent many games on PC like Genshin (I mean open-world exploration with powers etc.) and even less on mobile (i think Mihoyo was like the only company providing such exprience on phone). The only popular games that offer this freed om of exploration is Elden Ring (which... it's clearly way different type of challenge and aesthetics etc.) and Breath of The Wild, which is not on PC. And no, don't you dare comparing Genshin to Skyrim, nobody plays Genshin as sneaky archer and also in Genshin everybody defeated the final dragon multiple times. The flaws of Genshin come out later. Grind. Bad rates. Grind. Lack of combat complexity. Grind. Lack of resources to make multiple vialbe builds (unless you grind or spend money / get blessed by RNGsus) and repetitiveness of exploration. Also 4-star units feel less viable in almost every instance in Genshin (i think like Bennet is only exception?). In arknights its really the other way around - all the flaws are visible first while its strenghts are hidden. So yeah, Genshin has amazing first gameplay and Arknights falls in that department, but in lategame its literally on reverse. Which wouldnt be a problem, but arknights had ass marketing, so not many people even try it. It's a shame since arknights is in my opinion literally the best gacha game and i will strongly defend my opinion. However it is not for everybody (oh yeah - tower defence is not most popular genre too) and it takes quite some time to really get rolling in operators, options etc. to fully enjoy its complexity.
