Well as a Pokemon theorist :P Oak actually lives in the Sinnoh region, or rather he once did. He has a house in Eterna city. He lived there when he was studying under professor Rowan so it's possible whilst Oak was working on becoming a Pokemon professor he caught a Pikachu in Sinnoh knowing he would need to give it to Ash in the future. Well there is also the pokedex that Ash has. With Oak being brought to the future. He learned not only of Ash and Pikachu, but of the pokedex as well. The fact being that Oak had created the dex. There is two paradoxes with the Pokemon 4ever movie.

Ragetiger1 There are 2 other instances as well. The very first Episode, we see Rick leave for a few moments before returning saying he went in another dimension for a LONG time without charging the portal gun and it's now empty, which kick starts the conflict. That right there, is time travel. The second, is with all the Jerrys at the Jerry Daycare. If there is no time travel, then all the Mortys are the same age, and all the Ricks are the same age. So they would most likely go on the exact same journeys at around the exact same time. So Ricks would drop off their jerrys around the same time and stuff. But in the episode we learn there have been some jerrys that were have been abandoned for a long time, maybe even years or even decades. This could only happen, if time travel was involved.

They have made a real statement that, Ash reasoning losing in Sinnoh league, is because of how too powerful he had become in the sinnoh. I can debunk the Pikachu coming from Sinno thing that you mentioned. If you look at the picture at 1:59 in the video the pokeball on the left has a green sticker of some sort. Later in the original anime series there is an episode where they bring in another trainer with a Pikachu for a starter ( I forgot his name), but he puts stickers on his pokeballs so he can identify them easily. That comes in handy when team rocket steels everyone's pokemon. But that same episode can also debunk Ash being a special case as he was not the only one with a Pikachu starter.

Rick and Morty don't time travel they go through dimensions

Those two things are one and the same. Time travel isn't linear, it isn't bound to the universe which the traveler is exiting because the past has already happened and the future has not yet happened. Interdimensional travel is to travel to another 'time', belonging to the next dimension and not the previous, which is at a different period of the one that the traveler came from giving the illusion of 'time travel'. Look up more on the multiverse theory, cartoons obviously aren't helping

Normally I'd agree with you, but pokemon's movies work differently. Because of the way the show is set up it's pretty easy to place where a movie's events would take place. Like for instance the first movie you can place that after the eighth gym battle. Or Lucario and the mystery of mew would obviously take place during the beginning of Ash's battle frontier journey.

One major thing that you missed about the seal on pikachu's ball is that in the cartoon there are several other trainers shown, even early on, that put stickers and other things on their pokeballs. One major example where it was even a plot point was with Richie.

"no other pokeballs have a seal on them" you can literally SEE the labels for the other starters in that picture you used. It says the pokemons names in japanese, they edit it out for the close up of the pokeball in the english version but you can still see it when its zoomed out. Also... why did those kids take just the pokemon and leave the balls? weird huh. It's almost like they just made some dumb mistakes that don't mean anything. That label on pikachus ball is there purely to try and make cooler and for no other reason, its not a beauty contest thing and pikachu was CLEARLY just recently caught, as he's not even used to his ball yes. The game isn't the anime, and the first season has a lot of stuff they go back on. There's tons of weird stuff in it. How many kids in the anime have starters. Almost none. Ash just wasnt lucky enough to get a starter and he didnt have a pokemon trainer for a parent so prof oak gave him one.

I dind not saw the movie, but base in your video I can say Prof. found Pikachu in a contest without knowing was the same Pikachu he saw as a kid. Pikachu was very problematic, maybe he was abandoned for his previus trainer, so when Ash show up late the Prof make all the connections and understood only Ash could help Pikachu. So that is that.

They get more than 1 of each pokemon a year, and on top of that there are TONS of starter pokemon that are not of the major types. Dratini is even a canon starter pokemon, the professors generally give out fire,water, and grass starters however that is not always the case as they have given starters out that were not of those types.

The explanation of the Bootstrap paradox actually explains a conversation I was having with my friends about the many mentally taxing things in Dragon Ball Super's future Trunks specifically the creation of the time machine. My theory is that oak just found a wild pikachu in or under his lab chewing on wires (like in one of the manga) and just caught it and marked it with a normal sticker as to not give him away by mistake. when ash comes along late, oak knows there were 4 kids and only 3 pokemon and so gives him pickachu.

The Sinnoh pokeball sticker things seems like a pretty big stretch. In the games and shows (not 100% sure about in the movies) it is shown that Oak is friends with Kurt who makes special Pokeballs, and according to canon the Pokemon's names are actually on the Pokeballs, its just not elaborated on as much so a decal on a Pokeball would be a lot less surprising if they already write on them or whatever.

My guess is, it all happened like in the first episode, meaning Ash did get his Pikachu from an Oak that was moved by Ash's eagerness to become a Pokemon master. Then, after Sam saw Ash and his Pikachu in movie 4, his subconscious picked up that it must be that way, so when he became a professor and his Ash turned out late, something in him told him he must definitely give that Pikachu to Ash. Some sort of "original happening ensures the future from going the same", avoiding a time paradox.

I think Ash was given a Pikachu because Ash is a direcy descendent of the Aura Guardian who sealed away Spiritomb, since that Aura Guardian also has a Pikachu and Ash can use Aura Powers. Professor Oak probably knows that Ash comes from a family of Aura Guardians and decides to give Ash a Pikachu because of that.

two issues that I have: seals weren't around at the time of the original anime and its clear oak just put a sticker on pikachu's pokeball for organization, as it's never seen again and when it is seen, no special effects come from pikachu's pokeballl. then countercounterpoint on bayleef, it should be said that not only is ash extremely close to pikachu, outright calling pikachu his partner several times, but pikachu is also the only one of ash's pokemon with a specific trait, he hates his pokeball and only goes in it in emergencies. thus it makes sense for oak to realize that the boy he met in Pallet Town and the Pikachu he has that hates its pokeball should likely go together.

The time loop is an easy one to exist outside the paradox. Oak gave the original Pikachu, just because it was what he had left. Then the paradox came about and future-traveled Oak remembered Ash had a Pikachu he got from him and when he got a Pikachu he put a sticker on the ball to remember to give it to him. Thus the only paradox is the bolt sticker. Also explains why the ball was special. The real question is, why the heck wasn't Pikachu problematic to keep in a ball until Ash came along?

Well, considering Ash has also seen nearly every legendary, was supposedly blessed by Ho-oh, and has somehow defied countless laws of the pokemon universe on a whim, is it really hard to believe that Ash is just specially chosen? I mean, the kid doesn't even age, his pokemon are only ever as strong as he needs them to be for an upcoming challenge, and he is always saving the world. A boot strap paradox is hardly a scratch in his resume.

I believe that off camera Sam heard ash mention Pikachu was his starter so after Sam went to the future and became the professor ash was born then professor oak went to sinnoh got Pikachu and had Delia set up ash so he'd be late so Sam would have an excuse to give ash a non starter Pokemon as his starter

Something else to consider, electric type was in a trio with fire and water/ice a couple of times in the first 2 generations Youve got the three eeveelutions The Legendary Birds And eventually the legendary beasts So maybe they wanted an electric type because electric was very relevant to the games and lore and even fire and water/ice type

Well actually the theory is confirmed because there is a scene in the movie in which ash explicitly states that pikachu was his starter. He even explains a little of how he got it. He goes and says this right to sams face. It's one of my favorite scenes.

You know the scary part of this theory? What happen to Ash's original pikachu? In the first 'timeline'. That pikachu likely was never given by oak at all. So it might had been just a wild pikachu caught, or someone else gave. And now do to the paradox, and now oak giving him a pikachu from shinno region. that original pikachu that was from kanto, was replace from another pikachu from a different region region. (even if oak got the pikachu from kanto, it isn't sure it is the SAME pikachu.) it's pretty sad when you think about it.

What if you know you're caught in a time travel loop, and you know you have to go back in time to perform a certain action at a certain time, but you just decide not to do it? Will the timeline you're currently in just be erased? If so, will it disappear the very moment you decide not to go back in time?

i honestly think the so called "stamp" is just an early version of an electric pokeball and that the professor had caught pikachu for experiments but it refuses to do anything and feeling sorry ash didn't get a starter he gave him the pikachu

I always thought that they chose Pikachu because of Cleffairy's similarity to Kirby in shape and color. I assumed they didn't want kids to confuse the two, so they chose a more unique-looking character.

I always thought that Ash was one of 3 trainers that were supposed to get pokemon from Oak, but Garry visited his grandfather and took one for himself even though he was not supposed too. In order to save his face professor Oak was forced to quickly find another pokemon in order to ensure all 3 official new trainers got their pokemons as they were supposed to.
