Why ATS is Better than ETS2

Here I thought after putting a lot of hours in both games, it felt like ETS2 was more polished than ATS. It feels to me like ETS is the love child while ATS is the second kid that people kind of forgot about :P Both games are still great, and find myself going back to both. I'll get a hankering to play in ATS drive around for a good long time then one day all the sudden it would be "man, this was way better in ETS", so I would then save and get into ETS. In certain areas of ETS, I MUCH prefer the highways over ATS. It seems way better organized. I personally wouldn't say either is better then the other, just different, and different is amazing!

I’m in the US but with the low count on TruckersMP ATS is a ghost town and to many highways. I personally think ETS has a better map right now. Once central and east coast come for ATS I’m hoping it will pick up !!

i preffer the EU roads to... ATS HWY Intersections are sometimes confused and roads almost look the same clear grey concrete style

Aside from small differences, the map and the trucks, ETS2 and ATS are basically the same game, since i'm from Brazil, i like them both, because is great to know places that i probably would never see with my own eyes in this life. I wish there was a BTS though, altough that would need to add some stuff like combat, and in certain parts would most likely become something like :Mud Runner.

C'mon! ETS2 is 4 years older than ATS! Most of the ETS2 map with DLCs is older than the first version of ATS. You should compare ETS2 reworked areas and ATS reworked areas. Btw, ETS2 trucks have terrible sounds, except the DAF XG+ and new MAN TGX, because they're the newest. Other trucks are very old and they are vacuums, which can tow big trailers

I have more than 2000 hrs on each.. and i am still playing more ets than ats.. and thats because i like narrow roads i feel more challenging.. also there are many different weather systems ... I like ets more

As a enthusiast steam deck player i would rather choose ETS over ATS just because with good enough tuning i achieved 8.4-11 watts of power consumption with 40fps giving me 4 hours of playtime while at same 11 watts ATS stutters like crazy with 29fps. ATS is a newer game and does have graphical benefits but at 1280/800 i could not care about graphic, just need to have massive amounts of playtime instead. still both of these games are good.

i like the challenge of floating gears in ats, where ets trucks have syncro'ed transmissions so you have to use clutch every time

technically you can do both methods in both games but floating feels a bit wrong in ets2 16speeds, probably because the ratios are different

I will Play ATS, if this one of two criteria are fulfilled: 1st is all states is unlocked, and 2nd is Cab Over Engine head tractor is available, US Model of course, because at 18 Wheel of Steel, they have it.

Can over most likely won’t come to ATS. We have not used cab over since that time in the US. Maybe with mods but 95% doubtful SCS would bring that as they try to stay as real as possible. Agreed with all the states. I can’t wait. Just wish more people played it on truckersMP

@@darth_cheezusJust as I said, at the moment, SCS is actively working on multiple state-DLC's with a rapid pace, and in the meantime, there's loads of modders who also has done map mods in the mean time and Cab-overs in the US is generally dead so your biggest chance is indeed just all the mods.

I started playing scs software games through ets2, it was the only one I knew and I didn't know about the existence of ats, besides I thought the European trucks were cooler, and because there were mods for the Brazil map, at the beginning of this year I saw videos of Brazilian truck drivers who lived in the United States, so I wanted to play ATS, and I got hooked, it's far superior to Euro Truck, the maps are more detailed and beautiful, in ETS2 it seems like all the cities and highways are the same, ats everything is iconic and innovative.

The main difference is release date, because 4 years before the release of ATS, ETS2 textures and models were utter s***. It is true haha, but with WB DLC, ETS2 is going to look even better than before. Every new DLC brings new models and the contents from the base game will look like a diamond.

There is a SoundFix mod in ETS2. In my opinion it is kinda good because SCS didn't put that much effort into ETS2 truck sounds.

This is very personal. I don't like ATS that much. I like small roads and a lot of nature. The American trucks are big and look beautiful but don't turn very well. Also, the trailers are sometimes stupidly big. I did almost 1600 hours in ETS2 and only 216 in ATS. With the Promods mod, you have a lot to drive and see. For me long distance driving is not attractive, so the long highway drives in ATS are boring. I drive in virtual reality so the graphics are very different from a monitor. In the cities in ATS, I suffer a lot from stutters, while my PC is strong enough. And that's why they have both, ETS2 and ATS.

off topic: have you seen the Asia Dream Map? It features the whole of Armenia and a lot of Georgian cities. I've had a look at the map myself and you can't combine it with other maps without it being broken. Maybe you can do a review about it or just check it out for yourself or something idk

All you said is true. Thats why i play ATS and not ETS2. As a German i can say, Germans like boring stuff. The Trucks sounds like vacuum cleaner because they do in RL. The Trucks looks boring and every one like the other, because they do in RL.

ETS2 has a better community, looks more developed and is the older game, and maybe the bias is because more people from europe play ETS. But i am stunck on ATS because of those lovely trucks and their engine sounds, and i love driving legally with 120km/h and not have to turn fines off. Both games have good quality mods especially sounds, but american trucks just feel different, they build trucks out of passion (or they used to until EU companies started buying American manufacturers), european trucks feel like econoboxes. Too sad that's happening to american trucks also IRL, they all use the same engines as europe now an dstarted sounding like vacuum cleaners :(

I guess ATS looks better because SCS puts more effort in it as in ETS2! If they would bring out ETS3 with a bigger and better engine, ATS would drop down immediately. I understand that everyone who is from the US loves the ATS. I'm from Europe/Germany. So ETS2 is home for me! Anyway, good video as always! 🤘🏼

I’m from the US and I like ETS over ATS. Right now I feel like ATS is empty highway simulator. It fell of really fast for people. At least on the TruckersMP side. I wish more people played it to drive around and seem lively. I’m wondering if they will go to Canada and Mexico. I feel like Mexico would be “rough” in spots to get any footage.

Despite I like more ETS2 than ATS, there's something I noticed while playing ATS that ETS doesn't have. One day I was struggling with a heavy load when going uphill. I noticed that I hadn't had that issue when playing ETS. That challenge made the whole experience even better.

American use the engine in front of driver for safety and comfort because driver lives in truck so cab is biggger so driver can lives truck more confort whre in Europe is small only fit driver seat and bed whre American fit all needed include some truck has toilet because American regilation is 53 feet long max not include truck length.whej American started regilation atually include truck lentg that why can over seen before regilation change also can over is like engine under cab for shorter and more cargo
