I believe she truly thought he would break down and come on back to the States. But he could not easily walk away from a life-changing part. It was his time, just as "High School Musical" was her chance for a life change. His success would have changed her life, too, had she been patient, also honoring the eight years. As it turns out, it was time for BOTH to let go and move on.

Austin and I have a ton in common: We both love kids (Ashley Tisdale's little one, Jupiter is a great example, and my two-year-old niece from my brother), we love dogs (Austin's puppy interview is a great example), we've both lost someone (His mom) and my uncle, we're closer in age, even I didn't notice it until now and we were both born a year apart (1990 and 1991).

Austin would have probably proposed if he didn't play Elvis. I've seen alot of interviews of him during the Elvis movie promotion and he was honest about how obssesed he was about Elvis and how he dedicated 2-3 years just play the role. I wouldn't blame him tbh coz this was such huge opportunity for him and wanted to do the best he can or his career would have gone nowhere. But i guess unfortunately his relationship with venassa suffered the most because of it. Currently he's doing great for himself and he's enjoying the success he's been craving for all these years and I think if given the chance to go back in time re-do it, he wouldn't change a thing

I wanted Zanessa to stay together, but then he went and messed up his looks, then she dated Austin, was clingy, which caused him to dump her, then he dated Kaia, was miserable around her and then dumped her three weeks ago. Which is why he looks happier and hotter than ever. So it's not Austin that's the problem. It's the women he dates. And besides, he needs to date a fan. Oh and he had an affair with Lily-Rose Depp and then Olivia DeJonge. Who I still don't like, because of her acting in the Elvis movie. Even though I've never watched it.
