Personally, I think Unit Tests are a huge waste of time. Bugs typically come from edge cases and if your unit test doesn't test for those edge cases then you still pass your unit test and you ship code with a bug in it. It is also more maintenance down the line when the rules of your password change and you now have to update the code and the unit test. Integration and Behavior testing does have value though and should be more of the focus, not unit tests.

well you can think of unit tests like installing sensors for your code. for example: if you make changes to an old piece of code that other code that depends on it , the sensor will notify you it will say hey there is something wrong. while, Integration and Behavior testing are important, but the execution time way too long, and its difficult to locate the errors exactly, whereas unit test gives you the immediate feedback and exact location.

Well, I was going to share this with my QA and QE teams but... Kind of not seeing the need for QA? Hmmm. Yeah, he's a dev. 😂 Our Automation Team consists of both QA's who know the data and integrated systems, and QE's who know the VS coding. We're cross training for knowledge share.

Not sure I said you don't need QA. I have always said with automated testing, QA can get to testing what matters and not the minutia that can be handled by well written automated tests.
