The reason baby park works so well in double dash is the items that they removed after that game. Bowser shells and fireballs crossing over the track meant you were never safe. The big bananas and yoshi eggs also left items on the track after the initial hit. Really good quality video though, keep it up!

You also didnt mention that the chaos from the gamecube also came from how there were no railings in the middle of the map so items can go over them, while on deluxe they added railings so items cant really go over easily

Fun fact: the coaster car in double dash can actually hit you, causing more chaos and fun! (But you can’t be hit by it on mk8 and DS doesn’t even have it)

I grew up playing Double Dash, and you absolutely need to play it. On a completely unrelated note, are you familiar with Dolphins? Dolphins are my favorite; you should definitely look up Dolphin games for the GameCube.

True DS had some chaotic events though it’s a downgrade it seems feel chaotic with the smart reds shell and cup rubber banding made it feel somewhat chaotic experience just without special items

Baby Park went from good to bad to good to bad. I always like the MK8(DX) version. I thought it was pretty good because the antigrav and the fact that there's 12 racers (which means more items to get hit with) creates a lot of chaos, like the original with the special items. So I believe it at least tried to keep the spirit of the original, and I think it did a pretty good job. Much better than DS and Tour, at least.

deluxe baby park is pretty good in it's own right, but with items unable to go over the divider in the middle of the track and the lack of different damages you get in deluxe from the items, has no where near the same feeling and charm that DD had. I find 8 deluxe to be very industrial, that's why I lose interest and still play double dash to this day

I feel like DS gcn baby park was decent and felt somewhat chaotic but with the reds and blues shells and cups rubbing banding on hard difficulty even though it’s 5 lap due to hardware limitations it always had a somewhat chaotic element to it just without the special items. ( my hot take mkds is a downgrade version of double dash and it tries to hard to be like double dash)

I like MKDS retro tracks, except for the GCN tracks (Yoshi Circuit was the only good one). Baby Park was the worst of it, because it basically is a representation of Nintendo not thinking of how DS works when remaking a track. Thankfully, the DS version of Baby Park isn't the Worst in the series. That honor goes to NS Excitebike Arena, a bootleg of Baby Park.
