Over the last few weeks, Belarus (possibly with the support of Russia) has been manufacturing a migrant crisis in Europe - most notably in Poland. This has resulted in tens of thousands of migrants being flown to Belarus and then forced into Europe, being used as political pawns by Belarus' Alexander Lukashenko. So in this video we'll explain what's happening, why it's happening and what comes next.

This what this has always been about, creating an excuse to cut off the gas supply to Europe. The EU having allowed it’s gas reserves to be run down to a dangerously low level has no defence against this and will have to capitulate once we get to that point.

@@wildmancartier well simple. You only have to look at what the Sultan does to N. Cyprus. He sends all those Muslim immigrats on that island nation (so that they can't escape easily) in order to boost the Muslim population. In a few years, when the Muslims will be in the majority compared to the Christians, he will be able to start making even more demands, through Ersin Tatar, that will allow him to have some form of power over there. In other words, he will try to take over the island using the immigrants as pawns. It's no secret that Erdogan sees the entirety of Cyprus as a protectorate of Turkey because we all know how stratigically important Cyprus is! And ofc, this dillema here goes for the entirety of the EU. It's no secret that many Eastern politicians and figureheads want to see Europe turn into an islamic "state", by using the immigrant card. My point is that, while the immigrants themselves aren't the enemy per se, they do however play a role in all this, even if themselves don't realize it, by allowing those Islamist politicians achieve their goal. If the EU nations continue to grant asylum to those immigrants at this rate well... Call me whatever you want if you disagree with me but Lukashenkovich, Erdie and by extesion Putinga can fuck right off.

I think the 4 thousands number refers to situation close to just one border crossing where situation is the most heated. Stop confusing the victim with the perpetrator. Poland is defending its (and the EU) borders from the hybrid war waged by the Lukashenko's regime. Poland is not responsible for the current situation, and even more so it should not be even remotely implied that it is somehow escalating the situation by defending its borders or that the Polish response is somehow creating the crisis - the responsibility for the situation lays solely with the despotic regime of Belarus. Furthermore, the shots were fired only by the Belarus side - would be good if you could rectify this, or state your source/evidence for the claims you make. There is only one perpetrator in this situation - the Lukashenko's regime - so please make it very clear and unambiguous.

I think we should call it Belarus Migrant Crisis. I mean, Polish response might not be ideal, but lets not forget who is the perpetrator. And, Lukashenko targets Lithuania and Latvia as well, so putting Poland in the center is a bit misleading. And there exist a few possible keys to solve the problem, sadly they mostly lay outside of the affected countries. 1st: the migrant target countries could consider making the Schengen application easier for people who have relatives in their territory. Those people mostly claim to have relatives in Germany / France / etc. But they could not get a visa to reconnect. If they could, they would fly in directly and ask for asylum where they want. And if they indeed have relatives who integrated into the society, they are the best kind of refugee to have. Altering visa procedures would decrease the flow of people going to Belarus - why go around, when you can legally go directly, after all. 2nd: the possibility to use current deal with Turkey could be used. Right now many people fly to Minsk from Istanbul, meaning that deporting them back to Istanbul should be covered by current deal with Erdogan. Then all those who do not want to just exit the trap they naively put themselves in could do that. Frontex budget should be adjusted to be able to cover for those return trips. 3rd: EU could officially acknowledge, that Putin is behind Lukashenko, and even if he wasn't inspirator, the best way to influence Lukashenka is by influencing Putin. So EU could say it will not certify Nord Stream 2 until Lukashenka stops. 4th: Ireland companies should end the lease of their planes to Belavia. Cause right now EU-owned planes are used for trafficking people into Belarus, which is unacceptable. On top of that, EU could start to sanction any airline that flies into Belarus. Basically strangle the air traffic going there. 5th: There exists also a solution external to the EU. Ukraine should be granted help to increase its transit capacity for Chinese goods, and the Chinese should be encouraged to use the Ukrainian route. After sufficient capacity will be provided for transit on the Ukraininan route, Poland will be able to stop transit via Belarus by shutting down a key rail terminal. Currently a big chunk of Lukashenkos income comes from transit. Cutting him off from that money will soften him up.

The funniest thing is that legal border crossings between Poland and Belarus are on average ~32km apart from each other, which means the longest distance to walk on average is ~16km. This means that from any point on the border it would take at most 1,5 days to get to a border crosssing point. Poland did not close those crossings, just made sure no illigals are getting in without proper papers

My understanding of this situation takes into account multiple issues and the outcome is clear: the crucial reason for the current migration crisis and people dieing on EU eastern border is closing nuclear power plants by Germany. 1. In 21th century, Germany decided to completely leave nuclear energy and put a lot of effort to block new nuclear investments in EU. 2. At the same time Germany is commited to bold emissions goals and renewables can't compensate them. To produce enough energy for the country to simply operate and to also reach emissions goals, they had to build new gas power plants. 3. As gas became more and more important for Germany's long-term energetic safety, it decided that it's worth to build another Baltic gas pipe - Nord Stream 2 - and sacrifice Poland's interests and safety to get cheaper and safer gas (Poland is a crucial transit country for Russian gas which brings profit but, which is more important, helps to stabilize its difficult relations with Russia) 4. Growing power of China finally forced USA to turn its focus to waters and islands thousands miles away with official decision to strongly decrease its presence in Europe, effectively making Europe "finally mind its own business". It was clear for years that it was only a matter of time, and yet Germany decided to weaken Poland's position on eastern NATO flank with full understanding of the consequences - now it's left without USA and without geopolitical tool in form of the gas transit. 5. Germany is fighting nuclear within EU to force another countries to rely on gas power plants during the green transformation and thereby to strengthen its own position as a gas distributor in the region, with two Baltic gas pipes operating. Germany wills the region's energetic safety for the next tens of years to have the face of Putin in the sake of its own profits. 6. Lukashenka is a rabid dog on Putin's leash. They're playing their own political game one against another, but in the end they're both making profit from this relationship. You should assume that 95% of Lukashenka's actions are legitimised by his Russian superior. And now we're coming to the culmination: 7. The winter is coming and it's forecasted to be rough. The world is already struggling with high energy prices and possible blackouts. 8. Nord Stream 2 is finished but isn't operating yet. It's a very delicate issue - opening it means officially selling Poland like Judas, so it would be more than appreciated to have a good moral excuse for doing so. And, like a rabbit jumping out of a magician's hat, all of sudden Lukashenka starts an artificial migration crisis on the Polish border, basically seeking for a casus belli. Alibi is well prepared: he's just a bloody dictator that wants revenge on Poland for supporting Belarusian opposition during massive protests after the last, rigged elections. And yet he's already sending a message that if Poland closes the border with Belarus and is putting military behind a wired fence, then he will "in response" shut down the gas flowing through Belarus from Russia to Poland (and thereby to Germany). Surprisingly convenient for Russia and Germany. 9. In such situation Nord Stream 2 manifests itself like a sudden saviour for Germany. And the circle of actions and reactions closed up... In 1-1.5 months Putin will step in, hand by hand with Germany opening Nord Stream 2, suddenly stopping the migration crisis like a true hero, saving all the starving migrants on the Belarusian border and blaming "irresponsible Polish foreign policy" for the entire situation. As it always goes. As you can see, in my conclusion it all started with Germany and its nuclear energy madness. And it all ends in Germany. Of course it's just my hypothesis, based on things I see and read on the internet, and it may be right, partially right or mostly missed, but for sure it's a consistent and logical attempt to explain what's happening on the eastern flank of western civilization.

There is one solution, but the EU hesitates. It is possible to close the transit from Belarus and freeze economic relations. Belarus recorded economic growth this year, and EU data show that this growth is solely due to cooperation with EU countries, including Poland. The economic partnership of Belarus with Russia gives it far too little. If Europe froze everything here, Lukashenko would feel it so badly that he would probably fulfill all the demands of the EU. Now you can see why the EU has no reason to pay Belarus for anything. But the EU hesitates because it would hit the business of many European companies (e.g. 500 from Poland). However, there is no other way. A little loss in business or an escalation of the problem (and its costs) and even a war?

The difference between Turkey and Belarus is that Turkey is next to Syria and Turkey didn't invite the refugees from Syrian civil war. They just swarmed in because it made sense for the refugees to travel to their neighbor. It was just bad luck for Turkey to be sitting next to it. That's why EU was willing to pay for Turkey. But Belarus is literally inviting refugees to their country just to be pushed away. Don't know how they are doing it because Belarus is probably the least European country where people should search sanctuary. Maybe they are paying for it that the refugees would land in Belarus instead.

I'm with the Poles on this one. To start with, the ppl there are migrants, not refugees. You wouldn't be allowed to cross the border of a random other state, right? Even less so with the reason for the attempt being "looking for greener pastures". More importantly though, the migrants have been brought in by Belarus. So their arrival happened under the states supervision. Belarus is a twat for the tactics used, but people are too, for taking that path to obtaining entry in the EU. "I'm gonna illegally try to cross some borders and if caught, I'mma play the victim". It's all a load of bull. Lastly, before taking care of the migrants in our countries, how about we have the state take care of our own citizens, living at or under the poverty line? You just can't do a good job helping others when you can barely stand on your own two feet. And the richer countries in the Union should think about it as well, instead of just looking in the distance from their high horses.

Łukaszenko might be the aggressor in this situation, but the way the polish government is handling it is atrocious. There is no regard for people dying at the border and those who try to help are stopped or arrested. It's a humanitarian crisis from both sides

40 flights per week X with around 140 passengers each X 4 weeks = 22400 persons per month. But Belarus is flying more and more refugees for everyday so soon it will double. And it hard to have control over a big border especially when Belarus military is helping people get over. a lot of people have already passed the border and are somewhere in Europe now

Probably because they would not be able to immigrate otherwise. Not saying u should let them i just say that it's unlikely they would get into germany in any other way, people tried to swim /sail across the Mediterranean with rafts and small boats full of people with a lot dying in the process in order to try and get the chance to enter the EU and flee from nort africa& others. Again not saying poland shoul let them in just saying they are not likely to be accepted otherwise ( unless they are wealthy)

@@kasugaryuichi9767 well most European countries built their wealth over othet people resources. Hell the usa went to war in the middle east for that exact reason. And again i am not saying u should just let them in i am just saying u should look at both sides perspectives and atleast try to find a somewhat of a solution ( especially for wars the west/usa is responsible for like iraq ) and keep in kind a lot of them can't just go to good schools earn a lot of money and using it to go to Europe/the us. What u are saying is only true if u are from another western nation/other stable nation ( like india, china, Russia, and anywhere else with decent or morr live conditions ) u should keep in mind a lot of refugees don't come from those kind of places and i am not talking about this specific case but on the millions of refugees who escape wars all over the globe . Overall i agree countries shouldn't be burdened with letting all immigrants in but we shoul definitely be tolerable to them in general and be more focused on what causer the problem in the first place ( whether it's assad or lukashenko or whatever)

By agreeing to Poland or the European Union accepting migrants, we will only encourage thousands more migrants and further hostile actions by Lukashenko. Poland is doing a good job of effectively defending the European Union's external border, and the EU as well as NATO should support these actions and become actively involved in the process.
