His resume at heavyweight is only so good because none of the other champions were able to keep the belt, but if you compare him to the greatest champions of every other division his resume is not really close, other than aljo who is the worst greatest champ. (I'm not talking down on them I'm just ranking it from a standpoint of accolades) The greatest champ of every division by accolades Stipe Jon Silva GSP Khabib Volk/Aldo Aljo DJ If you compare all of them Stipe is kinda an average UFC champ. Before Stipe people were calling Werdum the heavyweight goat.

Jones at HW has been a total bust. 1 fight in 4 years. Tom stopping Sergei's 6 fight first round KO win streak is more impreasive than anything Jon has done since his 2nd Gus win. That was over half a decade ago. He should have retired after Gane instead of cherrypicking a semi-retired opponent to pad his record.

@@thesaintst1851 Let me help you. Jones has been talking about moving up to heavyweight for years. He could have moved up at any point to have a superfight with champs ranging from Brock to Francis. He only decided to move up once every big dawg left the sport. Then he took 2 years to add size, which was nothing more than a pandemic belly. He fought once outside of his residence, and proceeded to cherrypick a retired guy as his next opponent. His HW run is a waste of everyone's time. He should have retired after Gane.

@@XBlack-oc6xt When someone teases something for over a decade, and it turns out to be a bust, you have a right as a fan to be disappointed and criticize. Long time fans of the sport have been looking forward to Jon moving up in weight forever. We wanted to see him fight Brock, Cain, JDS, Werdum, Stipe in his prime, and even Francis. It never happened. He stayed out of the division until all the heavyweight kings left, won a vacated belt, and proceeded to call out a retired guy. Compared to what its potential was, his heavyweight run has been a dud.

I've been watching UFC since the beginning with Royce, although not a hard fan until around UFC 40-50 approx. Back then moving up wasn't common, Silva was a rarity. The only disappointment in Jones at HW is that he got injured. Francis, you gotta be joking, he held up the division for about 2 years only to walk... Take care man, keep on hating. SMH.

I am no sure I know why Stipe didn't get rematch w Francis instead of Cereal. I thought there was a delay like he needed some time to recover or something.. It was a nasty KO. I wonder if his leg was good after falling like that, or if maybe it was just needing some time from the KO idk.. But in hindsight, I wish they did Stipe instead of Gane Girl. I also wish they had done Tom or Curtis or Pav instead of Gane in 60 seconds(by tap out) v Jon. Idk why but they seem to really like Ciryl. But I agree, wish they did Stipe/Francis trilogy

At UFC 1 the fighters didn’t have weight classes. The essence of the sport is the see who is the baddest SOB. If you fought someone in real life you can’t worry about 10-20lbs difference. Jones should have fought at 225 3 years ago. DC is more of a badass because he fought at heavy and light heavy with out time to bulk up. Hand picking opponents is ……….?

Ufc morphed into wwe with which fights and fighters it promotes. No longer a sport with divisions. Every title winner going up in weight while keeping ppv in in prev division. Ducking fights and creating fictitious narratives. Sick of it already. Tom has best stats of any fighter any division over last 30 yrs. Look it up yourself. He has 4 firsts all in skill danger tables. He has 1st,1st,1st,1st,4th, 4th rankings in fight stats - best profile ever. Miocic only considered best because he had a record of four defenses but had 2 losses in between. He’s not even in statleader top ten tables. Francis is in one table at 9th. Stipe Win streak mediocre at top level = this only shows he is resilient in being around for long enough without injury.
