Why Bumblebee's Eyes Turned Red in His Movie. 1 interesting instance that took place in Bumblebee's self-titled film would have to be his eyes. Shortly after his memories are restored and he fights against Sector 7. And Agent Burns throws Charlie to the ground his optics go from blue to red and proceeds to blast at all of the surrounding soldiers. Which is funny because they remain blue in trailer. This instance left many wondering why and how this happened. Which is a good question since the Autobots aren't known to change their signature blue eyes. But its important to keep in mind that Autobots possess a level of inner peace and are for the most part passive. While Decepticons always angry and utilize their rage during combat. And we've seen examples of Autobots having red eyes. My personal guess was sort of a combo with what you said and that since he still had amnesia at the time, he essentially temporarily chose to be a Decepticon (unintentionally) and his body sort of responded to the rage hence the red eyes. And then, like in the movie, he remembered who he really was and they went back to blue.

Idk if I’m remembering wrong but in an article talking about inspirations for the Bumblebee movie, The Iron Giant was a big inspiration for it. It has a very similar premise to Bumblebee where a robot comes down to earth and a kid finds them and has to hide them from the government. In one scene of the Iron Giant, the kid is unconscious and he is thought to be dead and the Giant enters a rage mode where is eyes go from the more neutral faded yellow to red and starts attacking the people that hurt his friend, just like in Bumblebee

I think of it this way, Bee is a robot at the end of the day, there is a chance that he has limiters that help him minimise collateral damage at the cost of being less combat effective than a Decepticon of similar prowess so he has to make up the difference with pure skill and strategy. However if he turns these limiters off he can use that full power unrestrained without emotions or morals guiding his actions. But that's just a game theory
