I've been hoping for a while that Blackmagic would release an updated speed editor with content creators in mind, or just a jog wheel. Not all Davinci Resolve users are professional editors! 🙃
@JakeWipp6 сағат бұрын
And it's 20% off right now! For those Fusion users I'd also add the Camera Tracker to the list.
@CreativeVideoTips6 сағат бұрын
Heck yeah - such a good deal. I almost put that on my list, but figured it might be too niche for new Resolve editors. Camera tracking for projection cleanup is awesome.

I just bought it a month ago before this sale 🥲

Being well over 70 I wish in some ways this workflow had been around 40 years ago.. I have been using Resolve for the past 18 months.. The fusion nodes were hard for me to get my head around but making more sense now, this is after years with AE. Carry on the good work my man.

That is so cool and encouraging to hear. I'm in my 40s and wish these tools were around when I started using a camera in middle school. I'm just thankful that creative limitations are removed for pretty much anyone nowadays.

I purchased Studio years ago for $295 with the Dongle and received the Speed Editor too. I never use it because I HATE the Usless CUT PAGE. OH the main reason was Back then only Studio had Video clean feed. I use 3 Screens A 60" UHDTV and a 48" UHDTV and the Laptop Screen.
@equisetuminc6 сағат бұрын
I bought the Speed Editor and got Studio for free: used on the Edit page. Micro Panel used on the color page.

Heck yeah - that is a great way to get the full version with some gear.

I bought it for $500 CAD and got the USB stick. Then I bought the editors keyboard. Now I have 2 seats AND the USB Stick to go anywhere. Still a better value than Premiere has ever been.

The usb dongles and nice when you need to move the license to another system quickly, or take on the road. Yep tremendous value.

Thanks for this!! My Adobe's yearly subscription ended today so this was the best news. I upgraded straight away! :) Now I'm starting to browse your great tutorials and tips to get on with Resolve. Especially Fusion is hard for me. So many years in After Effects...
@CreativeVideoTips4 сағат бұрын
Thats great to hear. I have a photo plan still with Adobe, but think when that lapses next year - I'll let that expire myself. Fusion VFX is my speciality, hopefully my Fusion playlist will have some tips for you.
@chicomiguel3 сағат бұрын
@ I'm swapping Photoshop to Affinity Photo 2 and Lightroom to Darkroom/RAW Power (iPad). I'm not that heavy user with those apps. Still, Fusion will be my next conquer because VFX and motion graphics are my thing. :)

worked on a short that was filmed in a church hall, with a sennheiser shotgun mic, you can imagine the reflections bouncing around, put the voice isolation on, my goodness. It sounded like it was rrecorded in a soundbooth. Just added a tiny bit of reverb to bring some life back to the dialogue. They thought I was an audio genius. 😂

Oh my gosh - yes this is a story with sharing - thank you! That voice isolation tool is magic.

What if I have a macbook air M2? It's not really powerful enough to get all of the Davinci Resolve beauty to the test? I love that is on sale today and I wish I could buy it anyway. Thanks for sharing.

Resolve loves every bit of hardware it can take, but you can still get a lot done on a base models. Either way you can always take your free projects into the paid version at a later date.

Hi thank for all your works, i just purchase Studio today. One question which software do you use in your taskbar to show CPU and Temp of the processor. Thanks again

Thanks for stopping by with the kind feedback. You're gonna love it. I use iStat Menu to monitor in the taskbar.

Noise Reduction was the Killer App feature that persuaded me to buy Resolve. But I only paid around £300 for it.😇 I am definitely going to look into Remote Monitoring. This may solve my problem of helping a mate grade his projects when he lives the other side of town.
@CreativeVideoTips3 сағат бұрын
@@frankinblackpool cool! Yeah the only real catch to remote monitoring is to get a Blackmagic ID to login if your don't already have one.

Afaik scene cut detection is also available in the free version.
@CreativeVideoTips44 минут бұрын
You can do the old style scene cut detect on the media page, but not on the timeline in the free version.

DR Noise Reduction is not as good as NEAT. Voice isolation rocks; I removed heavy rain on a dome from the Minister at a wedding.

@@Learn2Canoedotca I agree it's not as good as neat, but hey its included.

Does anyone know if an uninstall of the free version of Resolve is necessary before purchasing and installing the paid version on Windows? I'm seeing lots of conflicting info out there, and can't find a solid answer.
@oo0Spyder0oo4 сағат бұрын
The free version can’t be changed into the paid one, you need to download the separate studio version for that. So uninstall the free version if you don’t intend to use it again. They are seperate programs.

Text based edit only works IF it can CORRECTLY understand the Speakers and it is at best 80 to 90% correct for my type of Video. IT ain't TALKING HEAD teach a Dummy. It's real world type Video. Don't even try to capture a Concert. that might be 40% correct at best.

Oh for sure, none of this "AI" automatic stuff is perfect, but it's a great tool to try when the language is clear.
