Oh man those Hamsters!!!!!! Just gonna drop a vote that if you get serious about another pet pretty please visit the local shelters. (Edit: I just learned that one or more of the big chains actually work with shelters to place rescued cats. So if true, that is really good.) I could almost smell that popcorn!

Chain stores don't use shelters for small animals (unless specified). I've had small animals (pet store hamster, adopted guinea pig, adopted rabbit) as an adult and I highly recommend not getting them for small children. They are very fragile, misunderstood, expensive and won't really "play" with kids.

When you go to Japan, go to kamakura, it’s a seaside town a little south of Tokyo. It has dozens of Buddhist Zen temples and Shinto shrines. It’s my favorite place to visit when going to Tokyo. Great area to go surfing too!!!

If you live near Volusia Co you need to go to Blur Springs. The manatees are going to start coming in numbers when it gets colder. Probably don’t want to swim there until the kids are a bit older. Blue Springs is my favorite park in central Florida.

Your family is going to have a blast in Japan. My daughter and I are taking our 4th trip to Korea this year with a 1 day trip to Japan for a concert. Don't forget to get vpn service and possibly an e-sim for your phone. Or you can get a physical sim card. Enjoy and have fun.
