Aaron you're the kinda person who i want to be not because you're an amazing skater, but because of what you've done for the skateboarding community, you've used your skill to gain a following but you dont use your fame for greed, you use it to make the world a better place, this video for example, do you think any professional who does everything for themselves could make a 9 minute video encouraging and helping other people who got into skating because of you. You're awesome dude. Thanks for everything you do. To all of the braille crew.

A bad habit to have when learning to Ollie is to stomp the back of the skateboard into the ground with your foot, right before the back of the board is about to hit the ground you have to quickly pull your foot up so your not making contact with the board when the back hits the ground. I recommend trying to Ollie without sliding at first because most of an Ollie is the pop, and the slide just levels it out. Once you have popping down just practice sliding, then put them both together and it should be perfect.

I haven't watched the video yet, but I have some things to say here. First off, I haven't skated in a couple years due to where I live not being a friendly place for skating. There's no skateparks within fifty kilometers of here, and I basically have to stop during the winter because it gets very cold. Anyway, I did have a teacher for a while, who told me I have noodle legs. I'm a tall guy, I stand at 206 centimeters, which is about six foot nine. I've needed to spend a while getting my proverbial sea-legs back on a skateboard since it's been so long since I last skated. And before you ask, no, I can't ollie. I assume it's for the same reasons, my legs are not attuned to this yet. Either way, I'd like to thank you, and this channel for helping me get back into skateboarding, and since summer's on it's way, I'll leave some progress reports when I can.

I feel like a lot of it is training your muscles. I just got back into skating at the age of 31, skated through highschool, and used a cruiser for a bit in my early 20s. I never progressed when i was younger because i was too scared, but i could ollie a curb, and kick flip a curb, not much else. Recently getting back into it and after gaining about 70 pounds since my teenage years, i have found that all the muscles i used for skating are just weak and i am out of shape. When youre a kid, you dont really notice it too much, but now im seeing it has a lot to do with being in shape, and training your muscles, at least for me anyway. I have been watching and studying, skating and braille videos, i myself have been making fast progress using techniques and exercises both on and off my skateboard. Ride every day, all day, i literally have a skateboard under my desk at work, that i move around with my feet all day. It seems ridiculous and excessive to some, but the proof is in the pudding, the more youre on your board, the better you will get. If youre out of shape, try some leg and core workouts, jump up and down things, get that body movin! it will help!

I have just started skateboarding last 2 months and I'm addicted to it now. and, just by watching you guys for over 4 years now, I have learned the ollie in just 2 weeks just by repeating all of the tutorials that aaron made. Just from that 2 weeks I have gained more progress than I have thought than anyone else had. In the 3rd week of my skateboarding skills, I tried to kickflip but my flick is kind of low so I still haven't gotten it. Sad to say that board of mine got broken. I'm planning to buy one this month, tho. I just hope that I still got it.

@fjuuh7 жыл бұрын
If your board is turning to a kickflip-like spin, try focusing on dragging your foot more towards the middle of the board. Other than that just keep doing low kicflips until you start getting super used to it and after that it will come naturally. An bro, you are halfway to doing a kickflip :^)

+Braille Skateboarding aaron i need help with heelflips. I sometimes can flip it but it takes forever to spin so i step off. I also cant pop at times but i try really hard. Emily Pearson what I did was I noticed his videos show that as your front foot drags the board forward during an ollie, your back foot catches the board as it's being dragged forward (so it doesn't fly away). In other words, your back foot must be flat and high in the air to catch the tail of the board. The highest point of the ollie seems to be when BOTH feet are flat and super high off the ground (almost as of you're doing a squat but in midair). I practiced many times simply jumping WITHOUT my board and making sure my rear foot was getting equally high, and that it would jump straight up and straight down. Before doing this, I noticed the board would fly off, or one of my feet wouldn't land over the board. Personally, simply practicing jumps where I pretended to be on a board and being conscious of my rear foot getting high off the ground helped me tremendously. I did these silly jumps for like 5 minutes straight and got on the board after and I immediately realized that I was fucking up all this time. I did ollies for like the whole day after practicing this. Don't give up :)
