Chiang mai is very chill city and easy to go to the out bound too just rent some motor bike youn can gom out to thr jungle in the moutain easily and no warries anything and 7-11 iare everywhere so that's help you survive easily.

Had to laugh, those tangled power cables look just like the view from my balcony here in Sabaneta!! lol... But you said it all, the safety factor wears on you. I've only been here basically two years and recently went back to Canada for a short stent (although I can't stand the WOKE culture in Canada) it felt so good walking around and not worrying about being robbed or who's watching me or following me...
