Population
It has 22,162 inhabitants, a little more than in 2011, when that number was 21,713, it seems little, but it is one of the few municipalities in Portugal that register a population growth.
Localization
It is located in the north central region of Portugal, between Porto and Aveiro, despite being only 45 kilometers from Porto, the municipality is part of the Aveiro district. It is bordered on the west and south by Oliveira de Azeméis, on the north by Santa Maria da Feira, and on the east by Ovar.
