On the last night of Jesus life, he speaks candidly and deeply with His best friends, the disciples who had followed him during His ministry. In explaining what would happen to Him at the cross and then giving them hope for the resurrection. God doesn't waste our suffering. In fact, He didn't waste His Son's suffering; but it is by this suffering that we are given eternal life and eternal joy. It was this joy set before Him, for which He endured the cross (Hebrews 12:1-2).
In this message Pastor Tim talks about the Cross that represents the beauty of what Christ did on the Cross for humanity as he looks at the affects the crucifixion, the affects of prayer and beauty of having access to the Father through Christ.
We do not have access to God on our own, but through Christ alone when we except Jesus Christ as our Savior, His blood cleanses us. With salvation, we are given not only the joy of eternal life, but granted access to God through Jesus Christ. This is the beauty of the Cross and what it represents and why Christians wear it.
"You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures." James 4:2-3
