Clg has the problem that no one good wanted to play for CLG. So they slapped together a possible rooster and they are just looking for 5th-4th. If they can get back into the top half of the pack, then they will have a much easier time attracting talent next year. I don’t hate their current rooster. It just won’t take first. Or second..... or third.

As a CLG faithful, nothing can be worse than what we repeatedly trotted out last year. The lone bright spot was ousting Crown for POB in Spring. Anyone is an upgrade from Wiggily, and while I'm not a big fan of Finn, I'd say that he's an upgrade from Ruin and that Turtle is an upgrade from Stixxay. CLG may not be a top team, but us faithful just want to see them win a handful of games ffs.

@@xxRockyBxx Oh, I agree wholeheartedly that Madison Square Garden is completely screwing this organization up. We're like the frickin New York Knicks (weird xD). I'm a fan because I have supported CLG since near their inception. I went to the IPL4 Finals in 2012 in Vegas to watch them play TSM before the LCS ever existed. Before CLG, I have always been a big and loyal sports fan (I'm from Boston, so I've had it good rooting for my teams in most pro sports). So I will always continue to support my team and hope that the completely inept ownership finally wakes up (not likely) or sells the team one day. I won't hop on the bandwagon of another team simply because mine blows. To be fair, I always root for any NA team at Worlds (CLG's never there to root for anyway), but my loyalty will always remain with my team. If I can claim I stayed through the bad, hopefully I'll get to see the good one day!

Hey Loco, using your descriptions of the players, I disagree with your conclusion. You described Finn as being (or at least wanting to be even though he wasn’t able to on Rogue) a strong side, aggressive laner. You also described Broxah as being a supportive jungler and Pobelter as a mid who doesn’t require a lot of attention. These assessments seem to lead one to the conclusion that Finn will be allowed to play strong side with Broxah presumably being able to allocate more time there rather than mid or bot. This is coupled with the fact that, as you stated, Turtle is fine leaning alone and shines later in team fights, thereby allowing Smoothie to make early game roams topside to help gank for Finn with Broxah. Ultimately, I’m not sure I disagree with your final conclusion, but moreso with your analysis reaching that conclusion. Thanks, and I appreciate seeing your videos again!

The last time Finn played against Alphari, he went 7-0-4 with Renekton against an 0-5 Kennen... He also went 1-1-9 on Orrn against Wonder to force a Game 5 against G2 in Semis... now he probably got gankes (twice against Alphari in that game), which wont happen if Broxah is your jungler... but still, he could lane against the best Toplaners in EU... And he is probably a lot cheaper then Alphari.

i think Finn is ok signing for CLG if he can play carry/weakside Top, but the signing of Broxah was unfortunate since he didn't show much on TL anyways, the hope of CLG is that this roster reminds me of when they removed DL and got stixxay/huhi, everyone thought was gonna be bad and turned out great, but this time they are betting on players that ended 2020 on a low note and trying to recover, but will be hard to achieve that

Honestly im in no means a fan but i felt ive had to admit WildTurtle was really servicable in the sense that he was never the weakpoint of the team, as such i feel im most 'hyped' if that term applies by Turtle on that roster. Edit: My guess would be the reboot or perhaps rebranding of Loco and Thorin's show, Thorin too teased it with the difference that he didnt lay it on as thick mysteriously but simply referred back to those days with Loco.

I think the reason they might be ok is a strong side carry top (if he lives up to it), paired with a weakside bot lane should make top half shine. By no means do I think they will be a top 3 team, but def a 4 to 6 team.

There's a need for coaches so it wouldn't surprise me if Loco does coach. Not sure if he's redeemed his reputation for GG but I could see him coaching again. Surprised that Reapered hasn't shown up anywhere but he may have been to costly. But to CLG...this is not their year. I think mid pack and playoffs is possible just because of the veterans but they will have to have a miracle to go beyond that. And the coaching/GM...they've got a lot of work to do to prove themselves.

I think they should’ve just gotten Svenskeren for their jungle and Ignar as support. I also think TSM should’ve gotten Impact over Huni. (Also the EG roster is a huge disappointment in my eyes and I think that their top players are just wasting their potential on that roster)

Don’t think tsm wanted to pay what impact wanted, and seeing what SA is getting plus what they are paying POE they probably wanted to go with a more budget top. I wish they would have picked up the licorice bundle though. Veteran top, with a pretty much full rookie team and room to grow.

I actually really like the Finn acquisition from them. If he stays happy and motivated he could fight for all pro status here in NA. I will agree on everything else though, Broxah and the bottom lane don’t really seem like good fits for the rest of the team. I hope they prove me wrong though, LCS would be a lot more interesting if this team ends up being competitive.

Tafokints said that their coach Galen was there to build the roster from the start so I don't think your comment at the end about coaches not wanting to join because of the roster is correct. Maybe an assistant coach or maybe analysts didn't want to join but head coach literally hand picked the players along with Tafo. I also don't even think it's a big deal that analysts didn't want to join CLG because of the roster (if it is true). I'm sure many analysts want to work with younger players who they can help develop. Of course the new CLG members can still develop their play but they will likely be a bit more set in their ways/won't need as much help because they've been playing for so long. Overall I think CLG is a middle of the pack team which is the only thing anyone should expect for this season.

I respectfully disagree with a few of your views on this CLG roster. Though I share a lot of your concerns re: individual members of this team (Broxah, Smoothie mostly) I think that this roster makes a lot of sense together on paper. I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned that Turtle is one of the best weakside ADCs in the league and looked fantastic in the 2v1 while Ignar was roaming elsewhere on the map. On that same note, you also mentioned that Smoothie is a really weak laner who can't create leads in the 2v2. I think that's what CLG is expecting out of Smoothie; doing a passable budget impression of Ignar where he roams to help other lanes while Turtle survives the 2v1. That's alright though; I don't think the CLG roster as constructed is going to be playing towards the bottom lane. CLG has a potential strong side toplane carry in Finn, like you mentioned, and a midlaner who can do well when given resources or when left on an island. Broxah is the big question mark here, and you've said he can't play carry junglers, which is mostly true, but he was really good during the last half of Worlds group stage where he outjungled SofM and Jankos, arguably the 2nd and 3rd best junglers at the tournament, and if he can get anywhere close to the heights of his 2018 Fnatic form, and Pobelter can leave his lane a little bit more instead of being the pivot point around which the entire team operates, then you're looking at a strong roaming core of Pobelter / Smoothie / Broxah to play to whichever side of the map they want to after draft, since you know that Finn is good enough to play weakside and not be a liability against top-tier toplaners like Zoom and Nuguri. I think this CLG team is a clear-cut top 6 roster, and IMO could land as high as 4th, but wouldn't expect it any lower than 7th.

CLG ran its own brand into the ground. They held onto bad players too long and choose not to make the hard choices to upgrade across the board. They didn’t develop talent and now they have nothing, so they invested into cheap well known players to boost branding. What a mess.

Loco, I would like to stress how important it would be to get a promising NA top and support. Right now jungle, mid and top are so stacked with European and Korean players, you would have to pay extra for a resident foreign player. Would this young top be as good as Alphari and Impact? Definitely not, Alphari was the best LEC top laner and Impact is a World Champion. But how else do good all-round players like Licorice turn up if they are not given the chance by teams that are good at developing talent? There is no way that these young promising players would ever get the main job at mid or jungle, there is simply too much proven talent from other regions that are willing to play in NA, but on top lane they definitely have a shot. Right now, if I have to decide what lane each region is most stacked at, that would be: LEC - Mid, with plenty of options for junglers KR - Mid, although they have great ADC and Sups China - ADC MO/HK/TW - pretty well rounded region that doesn't excel at any role in particular NA - Mid, but plenty of decent top and ADC. If NA mids can't compete with top tier import mids, then at least give tops and ADCs and supports a chance, I'd say, since they can't bring players from China
