Absolutely. Use the BCS to select the top 12/16 teams and run the playoffs. Personally, I would advocate simply doing away with automatic qualifying, especially now that the conferences have consolidated. Just have the BCS rank the top 16 and do traditional seeding.

The problem was not the BCS. It was the lack of a playoff. The system worked as it should, but the idea was there needed to be an 8 team playoff. My personal idea of a Power 5 + 3 with Elo is such a great system.

The bcs should never come back. Playoff rankings should be based on the teams not who wins their conference title game. Oregons basically got the toughest route to the championship.

The biggest problem of the BCS was in 2004 when a 1-loss Oklahoma was picked over undefeated Auburn to face USC and lost by 40 and another year where the team that won the BCS National Championship finished 2nd in the AP Poll causing split National Champions in 2003 that's why Pete Carroll has 2 National Championships according to Historical record but only has 1 celebrated because in 2003 Carson Palmer's USC finished 1st in the Polls after a demolition of Iowa while LSU won a boring BCS Title game that nobody remembered against Oklahoma 😂

Crazy how OU got lucky in 03, 04 and also 08 which u didnt mention. I think they were the best of the 3 way tied teams, but Texas had a strong argument. OU lost all 3 of those champ games
