Thank you for today's card idea. I feel like I can do it. My mom grew up in a state that had cardinals and moved to a state with bluejays instead. I liked your whimsifying. I look forward to painting your tree of life with birds.

Beautiful painting! I have a pair of cardinals here that I feed. This summer they had a nest right outside my kitchen window in a rose bush. We were able to see them feeding their baby until it fledged. Diane, just a tip. Cardinals have bright red beaks!

I have Burford hollies in my yard, and they don't look spiky, until I try to scoot through them to get to my bird feeder. The tips of their leaves are very sharp. But their berries are bright and cheery. Beautiful holiday scene! Thank you Diane.

I read recently that holly leaves develop spikes as a defense against deer eating them!
