Totally ridiculous decision. We Cov fans could see Robins was being deliberately hamstrung by Doug King and it’s why even when losing games we would always sing "There’s Only One Mark Robins". You only have to look at the reaction of Cov fans to see we are all livid with his sacking.

Crazy decision he’s done a remarkable job at Coventry. It makes zero sense. I’ve seen a few “supporters” get on his back in recent games no idea why.

Doug King wants total control. Taken all of Robins support and allies away and hoped he would quit. Clearly he wasn't going to do that so Dumb Doug has sacked him. I don't think the ego-centric owner likes Robins getting all the glory so has got shot of him.

It can also have the effect of say Robins going to a Hull or Portsmouth and coming in for Haji Wright or Victor Torp in the transfer window....strange flip effects like that can happen.

I'm a Cov fan, this is a decision we knew would come eventually with how this season has been going, BUT he should've had credit in the bank and deserved more time, he's proven he can turn it around and come good, the man deserves a statue outside the ground.

To play devil's advocate here, has he not used his credit in the bank during previous season's when you started badly? Again, I don't necessarily agree with the decision but maybe a refresh could actually work in your favour

Season ticket holder at the Sky Blues here. MR has done absolute wonders for the club there is no denying that. He goes down as a legend, however, lately the performances and results have not been good enough. It’s around 4 wins in the last 20 games since we beat Leeds at home in April. Doesn’t matter how much ‘credit’ is in the bank, that form gets you the sack as a manger.

If the next appointment comes in and starts winning games it'll all be forgotten I don't think whoever comes in is going to fill his shoes but from the perspective of someone who's reinvested 54m back into the club I can see why it's happened. I can't see this ending well tbh but I do hope I'm wrong.

Ridiculous decision, by some fella who don't know shit about Football. Sold Hamer, Gyökeres, Palmer and lost Ohare on a free, due to his unwillingness to pay him what he was worth. We need to get behind the new manager, even if it is Frank Lampard😂
@leecheetham22692 ай бұрын
Lets be honest?? Theres been plenty of bad decisions this season?? Not signing harrison burrows was a bad decision... Not bringing in callum doyle on a permanant and letting him get farmed out to nowhich was a bad decision. Bringing in bassette and asante in a season where weve already got two recognised strikers and development strikers, in obikwu and tavares was a bad decision, Failing to secure callum o'hare was a bad decision... Also failing to bring in another physical central midfield has yet to prove a bad decision, but one injury and it will, For all the talk of not wanting to spend money where it's not necessary, So as to focus on making signing that genuinely make us a stronger unit, Signing dovin while not a bad decision seemed at the time perplexing, Especially with brad collins who has a exceptional debut season 👏 Mark has been a great servant for the club 👏 👍 👌 But the only disappointing thing is that he was sacked without the club having already having nailed on a hot new manager to take the reigns 🤔 I love mark but hes not been happy all season And if you ask me the reason is the above, The club has signed to many players who are all on the same level rather than focusing on improving on what we already had.
@mechaishida75882 ай бұрын
Callum Doyle was £10 mil to buy outright, and that was what Leicester were told. No way we could afford that. Brad Collins, imo and the opinion of many other fans, did not have an exceptional season - he was ok, but faded terribly towards March and was making too many errors. I agree, the missing piece of the puzzle is a CDM who can drive the team forward, like Hamer did. I will say, however, Tavares is nowhere near the level and should have been loaned out for game time and experience - Obikwu, the same. Doug King gave Robins the sack because since we beat Leeds at the CBS last season, we had won 4 league games. 4 in 20+ games, and tactically, we have been caught out time and time again by Robins’ stubbornness to change it up. As annoyed as I am that he’s gone, and as much as I’m grateful for all Robins did for my club, it was only a matter of time before he would face the sack. The whole infrastructure changed around Robins, and personally, I don’t think he could deliver what was demanded of him.
@leecheetham22692 ай бұрын
@mechaishida7588 again that's your opinion, but firstly brad Collins had the most shots saved in the championship last season, number 1, number two not signing dovin would of saved us 2.5 million quid?? Not signing luis binks would have saved us 2million quid do you see where this is going, never mind the 3.5 million paid for kitching who barely even features, add to that rudioni who seems a reasonably decent whatever position he plays kind of player who cost nearly 5 million, add to that bassette at nearly three million who along with asante will barely get any game time because of Wright and simms who are both strikers, never mind Mason Clarke sakamoto and Rodrigues who are all attack minded wingers?? The club has spent nearly 40 million in two years and yet we have one of the worst defences in the division. So to say we don't have the money to sign doyle but we do have the money to sign player who don't or won't even feature is ridiculous.
@mechaishida75882 ай бұрын
@@leecheetham2269 Firstly, neither you nor I have any idea of the true state of the club’s financial status, the recruitment policies and the actual say that Robins had in transfers. I agree, I would never have signed Kitching for £4.5mil, nor Mason-Clarke for the same fee, and it was the club who decided against paying £10mil for a defender who was pivotal to our play off run and not a gamble like Kitching and Thomas. Dovin was signed as a long term prospect, I guess, and that statistic about Collins having most shots saved last season - what source is that from, please?
@leecheetham22692 ай бұрын
@mechaishida7588 Yes, brad Collins had the highest shots saved last season in the championship finishing with a shots saved percentage of 76.5% which is pretty high much higher than dovin so far this season, by the way. Also, signing Mason Clarke was great business?? If... playing haji in his more natural position was the intention. But signing Mason was bad business if you then go out and buy two new strikers??? Why... Because he will be limited to time on the pitch and a player moving in his trajectory, needs more pitch time to bed in. Signing asante and bassette has limited the pitch time, so far this season of Clarke sakamoto and rodrigues, You heard it from Robins on multiple occasions about the need for man management?? He was struggling to find time so that they all got a shot at playing, but in doing so he was neglecting or the club was neglecting the lack of cohesiveness in a club where so many players are in need of perfecting their game. Also, we may not know about the clubs finances, but we do know that over the last two seasons, the club has spent over 40 million on players
