This hit me hard. Vlogging is fun when it's a vlog I want to make. But being married with a kid, vlogging became a job. Something I have to do to survive. I'm not passionate about most of the videos I create and it shows in the lack of editing effort I put in. It's rare now that I make a vlog that I actually want to make. Most of the time the vlogs I want to make don't get enough views to justify the time spent researching, script writing and editing. It's why I've shifted my focus to other career opportunities such as event hosting. Anyway great talk. We started vlogging the same year so I could relate to this discussion

Even the pinoy baiters arent making any money anymore, most have been found out and now forced to make other arrangements. When you think about the really bad ones, its hard to feel sorry for them. And, the Philippine government is finally catching up with them in one form or another.

remember when both wil and daniel asking for "like and subscribe" and promising content in return, then after sometime both of them stop vlogging?
@christopherturco1973 ай бұрын
Thanks, Wil, for putting this out. This was very important to share, so viewers understand how you and Daniel have changed - your priorities, confidence level, insecurities, interests, etc. I had thought at some point (quite a while back) you would move on from the type of vlogs you did, if not from vlogging itself. When I first thought of that, you were still pretty deep into vlogging but starting to immerse yourself in self-enrichment (health & fitness, "Superhuman," etc.), but I couldn't envision when that move would occur. Then, it just sort of happened organically, and I don't think that you even knew that it was happening. I hope you and Daniel have managed to psych yourselves up enough to put out some new content, though. Both of you have always put out high quality product and that is always desired and appreciated. Whether you realize it, or care, people have come to care about both of you, because you were vulnerable enough (intentionally or not) to invite us into your lives through this medium. So, any vlogs you put out are welcome and anticipated. Note: Not wanting to be on camera is a product of not needing to be the focus of attention as you grow older, I believe. When you're younger, there's a need to be "seen," so it's important to be the focus of attention - your mentality is that the world is all about you. The thinking thankfully, is that, you're going to do great things, and the world is going to know who you are for the positive impact you're going to have. As you get older, you realize that others are just as important, or more important, regardless of how successful you've been. This is likely because you gain confidence from your life experiences and eventually don't require validation from others.

Imho. Will vlogs start to decline, when he started vlogging tourist spots, celebrities, High end places, nothing wrong with that but Will's vlogs Soul and heart that we all loved and adored from the beginning is his interaction with the locals, the barrios, the backwater places in Philippines. Will's channel Lost it's charm and looked like the same vloggers out there. We miss the old Will that's so touching and human outside the limelight. Happy to see you both! So many memories from your vlogs and the Vlog Squad - those were such fun times. Is there any chance of a Vlog Squad reunion, even just one? Anyway, regarding today’s generation, they seem to prefer short content like reels, shorts, and TikToks. I guess it’s because most people now want things quick and don’t like getting bored easily. There are so many content creators and influencers who aren’t doing much but are still famous and have tons of followers, especially on TikTok. Daniel has a unique set of skills that are hard to fit into a single category. Some of his vlog narratives are simply poetry and the camera-work breathtaking, not to mention a commanding, actually soothing voice for narration. In some respects Daniel is reminiscent of George Benson, the entertainer, who was a great singer, dancer and musician, so many skills it was difficult to focus on one aspect of his talent. Daniel is contemplative, introspective and no doubt will figure all this out.

I totally understand the dilemma of going thru and adapting with changing trends, while staying true to ones standards and style. IG reels has definitely changed the game. Dan Dan dude! Your cinematic videos with your VO was always something I look forward to. I got fed up watching YT videos of people's faces, like almost always. I mean no offense, you guys are all good looking, I love looking at your genuine facial reactions and all, but... I still prefer seeing those around you, esp when you go places. And when you do a slowmo with your VO, it's to die for. You have this mudulated voice that adds so much beauty and emotion into a short clip. When you do that, it never fails to move me in such way that I am always in awe of the beauty around us that we sometimes tend to miss. Will has grown from his kolokoyness 😊 but his story telling is so touching. Wil's videos always projects kindness with playfulness (naughty)in it, only shows how fun loving he is. You guys make such touching stories at the end of each videos. And I am hoping to see more. BTW, how many channels do you have, Wil?! I've always thought I subscribe a long time ago. 🤔🤔🤔
