@@igottouchedatthecinema Exactly. It's when the actors are TRULY on-point and understand their mission better than anyone (even the writer). Crazy to think The Rock has been in movies since the late 90’s and he’s barely improved. I remember when he was doing promo for that movie Rampage, it was just him recording himself at the gym saying “hey guys go watch my new film” How he’s one of the highest paid actors is baffling

@@Bingo_the_Pug It's because Dwayne is all personality and charm, but he's NEVER vulnerable. Never. Well... there was *slightly* one exception. That was "The Tooth Fairy". I have loved Dave since his WWE days and he will awalys be my all time fav wrestler. And when he picked up in movies it was a hit of nostalgia at first to eventually accepting hes a great actor. Although for alot of comments i see theres always a compliment to Dave and a diss to John. Like its always a scale they measure John against Dave. Let me be blunt here, as much as Dave deserves all his achievements and I agree hes become a great actor in his portrayals yet i feel most of the comments here are doing the exact same thing to John as what executive producers and Hollywood did to Bautista: Underestimate him. Go back on each individuals movie career and where it picked up. The rock basically started in 2002 in the movie industry Dave started early around like 2006(i think) but around 2010(when he first left wwe) thats when he had time to hone his craft at acting and picked up when GOtG released. Then John who had movies around 2006 but only started to become more frequent in movies around 2015 so there is a vast time difference that people are dissmissing. The Rock has no excuse for his crappy acting because he had 2 decades to improve. He didnt Bautista greatly improved over 13 years in the movie industry And John 7 years in(while in wwe) has shown some great improvement. Yes not to the standard of Bautista but you cant deny he adds some depth to his characters and its only getting better. So the fact that people dismiss him just because he hasnt made a masterpiece since Peacemaker seems too quick to judge his ability to act especially so early. when he leaves WWE soon and focuses on acting and comes out with actual great performances i wonder how peoples tunes are gonna change because people underestimated him just like Bautista was underestimated. I love Bautista but i am not gonna dismiss John after seeing a few movies where he actually gets laughs genuinely and his characters are convincing enough that you cant deny he played the character well. Just wait and see the improvements come through

It's like when famous people come to WWE and almost everyone of them goes "what can wrestling do for me" - and we all hate them for it - but there's that one Kurt Angle that goes, no "what can I do for wrestling" and thats what Dave is doing. Dave wants to give, whereas Rock and Cena want to take - and we know this and know their roles are super one dimensional and essentially transactional, Dave GIVES.

Bc Dave treats it seriously as a profession. Rock is concerned about always looking good which makes every role he takes the exact same. Cena just wants to be a straight man. Dave pushes and challenges himself - and he's able to pull off performances that top movie stars would kill to have a similar performance.
@bwareistАй бұрын
The Rock USED to try, but now n days he just plays himself, Cena while he does try, he only has a a couple of specific niches that he can pull of successfully. Batista is alot more well rounded of actor. I'd much rather see a movie with Batista in it, than a movie with either of the former two in it.
@Kusanagikaiser9993 ай бұрын
The tier here is simple. S+ acting skills....BATISTA A+ Cena D at best The Rock. Batista and Cena can run circles around the Rock when it comes to acting and is a shame, when the Rock started he actually try, he might not have a huge successful film that turn the world on fire but he had some roles that show he could act, problem is, he have become a BRAND, and not he is not even allowing people to beat him in a film, what the heck is that for a story teller?, when your character can't be seem as weak, the Rock destroy any chances with that alone to become a real actor, Arnold was never like that as unstoppable some of his role where, Arnold never ask or demand that his character was invincible, some of his best roles like Dutch in Predator or the T-800 where roles that humanize his character by having some limits and weakness, even when he played a damn robot still could be blow up, get torn apart and smack around. Batista totally understand this and he brings a humanity to his roles, even Drax have 10 times the vulnerability and humanity than any character the Rock have ever played had. Batista easily win this, Cena also is very good, but he takes too much crappy jobs, hope he start taking less and look for more prestige roles for himself
@igottouchedatthecinema3 ай бұрын
You've hit the nail on the head! Great acting requires vulnerability and Bautista isn't afraid to be vulnerable whereas the Rock would never be vulnerable because he thinks it makes him look weak (although ironically Bautista looks much stronger for allowing himself to be vulnerable). And I agree about Cena, he takes on a lot of crap, but I have to admit even in a mediocre straight-to-streaming comedy like Jackpot or Ricky Stanicky Cena brings his A-game and provides a lot of laughs
@kilian-one-l5 күн бұрын
I do think that John Cena has the capacity to be a great actor too, you can really see it in Peacemaker. If he keeps challenging himself and improving he might be just as good IMO. That's where Bautista and John Cena differ from The Rock.

Everyone ignores the fact that Dave as a wrestler was the weakest performer compared to Dwayne and John and had far less charisma. He’s exceeding expectations because he set the bar so low, but he’s doing the same thing Dwayne did 20 years ago by dropping size to try and attract more diverse roles.
@divad71373 ай бұрын
I swear, I think you must have such a fragile ego to have in your contract that you can't lose fights in a fucking movie. Like you are an actor. Who cares if you lose a fight in a movie? It's not even fucking real, you do what the role demands you to do, and that is why a lot of the Rock's roles are literally played the exact same. I loved Batista in Dune and he played his character in an incredible way.
@RomaroBrandon Жыл бұрын
Here's why I think you and everyone else who says Batista is a better actor than The Rock is wrong, you only brought up his action movies forgetting he has done comedies in the past, such as The Game Plan. Another reason I like The Rock more is because he doesn't die in movies and that makes sense. I haven't seen Blade Runner 2049 so I can't say Batista dying in that movie was unnecessary, however I have seen Army of the Dead and agree that Kate Ward should have been the one killed instead. Bushwick is another movie where Batista unfortunately dies before the credits roll and it happened in the stupidest way with him getting shot after opening a baby room door. The only time him dying ever made sense to me was in Avengers Infinity War. Also I don't think it's fair to compare John Cena to either Dwayne Johnson or Batista until he stars in a serious role like the other two have. The closest he's gotten is The Marine and he's been replaced in the leading role twice.

Batista is pretty lousy as an actor, speaks funny, bad delivery and just isn't believable in the role. The rock is the most natural of the three in front of the camera, but his problem is that he plays the same role in each movie, which gets repetitive.
