Ngl, I'd love to see the Russo family come back and take down the "family wizard " system. It's been a while since I watched the show, but it felt like the system did more harm than good. So many families were torn apart because the siblings who lost grew jealous of the one that kept their power.

Cuz like even if there was a wizard competition with their kids and if one lose wizards powers they will still have warewolf or vampire powers

Or automatically disqualify you from the competition or having powers? Maybe the new series would be about that. Justin and Alex each have a kid who is forbidden from having Wizard powers and they have to convince the Wizard Council to allow the kids powers. Or they have to learn to deal without powers while a 3rd sibling who isn’t a half-vampire/half-werewolf did get wizard powers. (I would say cousin but Jake T. Austin is only 28 so unless he had a kid at 18 wouldn’t be old enough/have a kid old enough)

When I first watched the finale of wizards, at the time I was pretty satisfied with the ending, I had always wanted Alex to win and she did and over all it was a fun finale. And i also thought Alex vs Alex was fun (though I would argue it had a lot more contradictory stuff to how spells work with being a full wizard compared to the show proper). But after hearing what Peter had thought the finale should have been and how production with season 4 went… I feel liked we where robbed of something more meaningful

I’ve been re watching for the 30th time and in season one Alex says the only prom id go to is a zombie prom. And then in season three? Her and Harper do an anti prom/zombie prom. Absolutely love that!

I'm glad to see this podcast, my question is are you guys aware of the international fame of the show, and have you watched the show with dubbing in different languages or not. I'm from Libya, wizards of Waverly place was one of the shows who got me through tough times as a kid especially in 2011 a civil war broke out in my country, we couldn't go to school anymore for 9 months, I used to watch wizards of Waverly place with Arabic subtitles every week and the show never failed to make me laugh.

can we talk about how the wizard competition in the wizards movie was so much better thought out than the “game show” ending concept? I know Alex was always meant to win which is the only constant. But the whole set up of using spells surrounding the elements while actually battling on fair ground for the ball of magic? fire. Unpopular opinion: I don't like what they wish the ending was because also it didn't make sense what the original show runner wanted. I hate the last season and I hate Alex vs Alex but overall what the three kids got in the end made a lot of sense. It is sweet if Alex wanted to stay with Mason but she wouldn't need to give up her powers. In fact, in season 3 I think, if she didn't have her powers she wouldn't be able to date him because there was fear he would eat her. Which the guy who said he would've written the ending differently was part of the decision to make that a plot point in season 3. Justin deserved more than to be the family wizard as where magic came naturally to Alex but just enough that she would be the family wizard. But not so much so that she is the most powerful wizard (as Alex vs Alex suggested) also with nothing left max totally deserved the sub shop if anything. Considering his success with "TO THE MAX" y'know

I think the problem with view-retention based algorithms is that it often fuels outrage. Because there’s many things that I’ve watched not because I enjoy it but because I find it disagreeable or disturbing. But then the algorithm serves you more or that so you delve deeper into your outrage. Finally you respond by commenting your disapproval and that boosts the algorithm even more especially if it’s on a platform like Instagram which doesn’t allow you to mute replies in order to force engagement.
