a lot of fans actually hated the idea of their faves remaking a song because for them it's loosing the group's originality, ofc everyone of us wants to listen and awaits for their own and original music releases, but I really salute SM for having the courage for this remakes and all, they've bought and done remakes more times already, I mean it's hard to surpassed the original let alone the pressure from people's expectations, but the company really knows what to do, not overpowering the original but not being shadowed too, im just amazed at how they do this things, kudos to sm artists for delivering a masterpiece as always

Your reaction video is so interesting! I've been watching many reaction vids for the Dreams Come True MV of aespa but by far this is the best! Your remarks and perspective on the mv are so great plus you can truly appreciate the production & concept made on aespa's mv because you've watched and heard already the og mv by S.E.S and as you've said you've been there when the og song was released and became a hit! Just if people want to know the S E.S :s version is a remake too, the origal song is finnish and it's called "rakastuin mä luuseriin" from Nyalon beat from 1996 and then sm bought it for S.E.S

When you go back to 1st gen groups like S.E.S. you have to remember the importance of not just the group and the music, but what they they were starting, granted the music in 4th gen is so different now, but you have to respect the music. Aespa and their team did a great job it could easily have gone really bad for them. I started listening to K-pop about the time SNSD debuted, but music from the time of baby Vox and Shinhwa was being played on certain music stations. sorry memories are just flooding back, doesn't time fly.

Oh, S.E.S' song is also a remake. The original song is actually by Nylon Beat - SM bought it in 98' & gave it to S.E.S. It's been covered & remade numerous times. Actually, Red Velvet & Twice did a collab stage with "Dreams Come True." Pretty awesome too 😊

Many people misunderstand this, but S.E.S. is not a remake. The composer who composed the song sold copyrights to the two singers at the same time. Both singers who sang "Dreams Come True" are original. And Aespa remake S.E.S. version.

The Finnish composer Risto composed it originally for Nylon Beat and then he worked on the reproduction of the song for S.E.S, as well, two years after the original release. Giving rights for a song doesn't mean that the one who buys it becomes an original creator, it simply means that they're legally allowed to use the composition in whichever way they like. That's why S.E.S' song is officially listed as a "cover" or "an adapted version" of the original melody. Here's a direct quote from Wikipedia: "The song is a cover of the 1996 song "Rakastuin mä looseriin" ("I fell in love with loser"), by Finnish girl group Nylon Beat. 사실 에스파는 길쭉늘씬한 체형이고 S.E.S.는 좀 아담한편. 당시 원래의 안무대로 하면 좀 심심한 느낌이어서 요즘감성에 맞게 노래며 안무까지 다시짯는데..물론 원곡의 신비스러움은 없지만, 꽤 들을만하게 리메이크한듯

I don’t agree with aespa trying this first many artist who are huge Blackpink,Twice and Redvelvet all have done similar to this Blackpink released the remixed version of so hot by wonder girl back in 2017. In 2016 Twice released remake version of precious love and during 2015 or 2016 Redvelvet released remade version of Automatic.And there might be other idol groups who released such thing. It’s just that at that time Kpop was growing and now Kpop is renowned in world so it was easier for people to notice Aespa’s remake of the song. But they gave their 100% and I love it.

Why would SM remaster some of their old hit songs? Probably due to contractual reasons and it's a good way to use a new group rising in popularity to maintain their copyright over the song. it probably won't be eligible for another remastering/remake for another 20 years.
