Next part : People like Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, Ram Nath Goenka, Jugal Kishore Birla and Dr. Munje wanted that if Ambedkar and his followers were adopting other religion, they should definitely adopt Sikhism, but C. Ramgopal Acharya, Tagore, Nehru supported Gandhi in his opposition to Sikhism. Gandhi started fast unto death to stop Ambedkar from conversation to Sikhism. Ambedkar was compelled to compromise with Gandhi and Gandhi-Ambedkar pact was signed in Pune's Yearwada Jail. Ambedkar himself written about thus fast- There was nothing noble in the fast. It was a foul and filthy. It was a vile and wicked act, how can the Untouchables regard such a man as honest and sincere ?... Gandhi saw to it that leadership remained in the hands of the hands of privileged class (see- The Doctor and the Saint by Arundhati Roy). Gandhi declared if joining of Dalits in Sikh Panth is a religious conversion, the It is very dangerous. Gandhi asked Ambedkar that if you want to become Sikh, I will support you but firstly Sikhs should declare that they are Hindus. This is the character of your Mahatma. On August 22, 1936 Mohandas Karamcnand labeled the proposed conversion of 60 millon Untouchables to Sikhi as 'A Dangerous Proposal'. Even Gandhi to derail Dalit from joining Sikhism opened doors of some Hindu temples for Dalits. So dalits were pushed to Buddhism by Gandhi's anti-Sikh attitude.

I think the social insecurity, poverty, illetracy and quota carrot prevent the dalits and other oppressed castes to convert to budhism. Also, most of the Indians worship God in one form or the other, this factor makes them uncomfortable to convert to Budhism where there is no concept of super natural God else the budhism values are sensible and meaningful.

This commentator either intentionally distorting the facts or ignorant about Ambedkar's position on leaving Hinduism. He was among the founders of Jaat Paat Todak Mandal and come to Amritsar on Baisakh by tying turban and declared in Akali conference that he and his followers will leave Hindu religion. On his instance at this occasion 250 dalits from UP embraced Sikhism. In the same year on 30th April a conference of Jaat Paat Todak Mandal was scheduled at Lahore, which was being chaired by Ambedkar. He prepared his presidential address, in ehich he harshly criticised Hinduism and had to announce his departure from Hindu religion. His written address was sent to General Secretary of Jaat Todak Mandal, but that was leaked to biggest Brahmin Hindu leader Mohan Das Karam Chand, Gandhi who with his anti-Sikh machinations scuttled that conference. In 1935 Dr. Ambedkar demanded a Printing Press and a Sikh college in Bombay for the education of Dalits. In 1937 Khalsa College Bombay was established. Ambedkar wanted to join Sikhism, but Gandhi, who was known for his anti-Sikh postures put his whole strength to stop Ambedkar from becoming a Sikh.

क्या बौद्ध धर्म वास्तव मे हिन्दू धर्म से अलग है ? मुझे नहीं लगता बौद्ध धर्म हिन्दू धर्म से अलग है ख़ासकर भारत मे?डॉ अम्बेडकर जी ने राजनीतिक कारणों से शायद अपना धर्म बदला। सचाई है कि बौद्ध धर्म मे अनेक दोष हैँ। वैसे डॉ अम्बेडकर एक महान विद्वान होते हुए धर्म परिवर्तन को अपनाना उनकी बड़ी भूल थी । व्यक्तिगत पराजय है। हिन्दू धर्म मे रहते हुए सुधार के लिये संघर्ष जारी रखते तो अच्छा होता। क्या धर्म बदलने से इंसान बदल जाता है उस्की मौलिक प्रकृति बदल जाति है? क्या वह अच्छा आदमी बन जाता है? नहीं। वह अपने धर्म का कट्टर अनुयायी बन जाता है। अपने पुराने धर्म के लोगों से नफरत करने लगता है।अपने को सही साबित करने के लिए अपने पुराने धर्म को गाली देने लगता है। बौद्ध धर्म मे मूर्ति पूजा निषेध है। मगर बुद्ध मन्दिर बने हैं और अम्बेडकर जी के भी मन्दिर बने हैँ और हिन्दू पूजा पद्धति के अनुसार पूजा होती है। भारत मे कोई भी भारतीय मत हिन्दू सनातन परंपराओ से अलग और अछूता नहीं रहा सकता न जीवित रहा सकता है। ईसाई धर्म भी हिन्दू परंपराओं को अपना रहा है। दुख इस बात का है डॉ अम्बेडकर जी आज एक राजनीतीक स्लोगन नारा बनगए है। उन्हें केवल आरक्षण और संविधान से जोड़ा जाता है।

In the same year on 30th April a conference of Jaat Paat Todak Mandal was scheduled at Lahore, which was being chaired by Ambedkar. He prepared his presidential address, in ehich he harshly criticised Hinduism and had to announce his departure from Hindu religion. His written address was sent to General Secretary of Jaat Todak Mandal, but that was leaked to biggest Brahmin Hindu leader Mohan Das Karam Chand, Gandhi who with his anti-Sikh machinations scuttled that conference. In 1935 Dr. Ambedkar demanded a Printing Press and a Sikh college in Bombay for the education of Dalits. In 1937 Khalsa College Bombay was established. Ambedkar wanted to join Sikhism, but Gandhi, who was known for his anti-Sikh postures put his whole strength to stop Ambedkar from becoming a Sikh.
