She kept me on the edge of my seat awaiting a great reveal only to leave us to piece things together on our own (typical professor). For her to be able to dissect various factors and compile those mysteries then lay them out revealing just enough to show how history has been covered up while taking us on a journey from one dynasty to the next is nothing short of remarkable.

I like it that the invaders can't truly invades Ancient Egypt's culture, they still need to follow theirs ways and religion to rule Egypt, that proves how strong Ancient Egypt's root was.

@@marymcbride9134 One can learn much from history. It's the one true study that's constant, consistent and never really changes. The older I get, the more interested I become in varied histories. I only wish I'd had this revelation (or someone to guide me) in this study when I was younger...or, at the very least, to convince me of my greatest love, the history of geology. One professor gently tried but was unsuccessful. Watching diverse docs on YT, which we didn't have then, would've helped my career choices. Watch, learn and enjoy, Mary. God speed and God bless.

Why do they think Egypt would build a temple to a mountain outside their main domain, if Egyptians do not feel connected to the Kush traditions too? Why do they always think its Kush that copied Egypt? They are both Twin Kingdoms of similar cultures and deities. If anything Kush is older than Egypt.

I would have loved a whole episode dedicated to the Ptolemaic dynasty, they were a fabulously Interesting dysfunctional family. Joann also wrote a book called the history of Egypt, it really is super, well written and highly readable, , it’s a great introduction to the joys of Ancient Egypt.

I keep searching for knowledge as to what it was (and is) that made Egypt so important. Why in the Bible, the the Jews kept going back and forth to and with Egypt. What are the secrets and mysteries about Egypt that has kept us so enthralled. The pyramids, the clothing, and headdresses, the oils and potions, the art, the science, the architecture, the battles, and spirituality all of it is deeply fascinating unlike any other place in the world.

Can't really say much more than what everyone else has said. This is exactly the documentary series I needed on ancient Egypt! So many documentaries out there, the narrator shouting at you and reeling off treasures and discoveries. All well and good, but you don't really learn anything. What a special series.
