Why did every kid want to own a Starter Jacket in the 90s? EP 132

I didn't have a Starter jacket. In my high school it was more fashionable to wear Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger color block jackets, shirts and jeans. A lot of kids even left the tags on to show off how much it cost. It looked ridiculous. I wore army navy type jackets and Dickies Eisenhower style jacket with buttons on them.
