I had also failed to pursue the holiness without which no man will see God. When I could not stop drinking or control my lust I found myself being tempted to be angry with God after several months of completely fruitless effort. Although I was angry and exhausted and had given up on my effort I didn't give up on God or accept my sin. I instead decided that every word of God was true and that my conversion had been false due to the 18 month struggle. I began to beg God. I asked God every day for repentance from dead works for around 2 years before I received the blessings and help I needed. Now I see God has blessed me and grown me by letting me blow in the wind for so long. I have learned trust, patience, and perseverance. During all that time I was never cast off. Because of the way I clung to God when I couldn't find Him I know that my faith is real. We surely prefer the trial to come from without but even if we bring the trial upon ourselves God will use it for blessing if we belong to the Lord Christ. It really hurt. God's word is true. He chastens those he loves and scourges every son whom he receives. I will pray.

The lord brought me to repentance, he showed me grace and mercy. Repentance is difficult because change is different and those who cannot change need to call out to God and acknowledge your sins your mistakes and allow God to work in your life even though it may be difficult God provides the strength to overcome those things. Yes! Watch Passion of the Christ to be reminded of what Jesus suffered! I rewatched it recently after many years and it was so difficult for me to watch. @@Werner878 1. The crimes are cosmic treason against an eternal creator. 2. Annihilation doesn't satisfy justice. Ceasing to exist is not a punishment, it's rest. 3. If you could get out of Hell the incentive to come to Him in faith is lessened. 4. Ultimately it's God's universe and He can set the rules. If He says Hell forever, it's Hell forever. The scripture is very very clear in multiple places. Hell isn't the same for everyone. The level of punishment depends on what crime is committed but it doesn't end. Think of it this way. Why would John the Baptist say to the Pharisees that went out to see him "Who warned you to flee from the wrath that is to come?" Why would someone need to flee annihilation? If you ceased to exist you'd have rest and peace.

Please pray for Shi Si Han in China, who is one of my grand uncles, for his being able to be guided and inspired by Jesus into the salvation! 7 years ago, he said a praying vow to believe Jesus after me and accepted a Bible book from me and promised me to look for the Christians in his village to know more of Jesus. Then I left for Canada. Decades of days ago, I travelled to China to see him for his spiritual state. Sadly, he was recovering from a stroke. His mind has become not that clear about my words and the Bible has been disappeared and seemingly had never been read. He also did not meet with any Christian in the village as he promised--- His wife and him hoped me to stay with them for the Biblical teachings, I refused because my sour throat and stuffed nose with blood and cough, which seemed to quickly developped into a dragging fever, reduced my Godly love and reasoning thinking in the polluted air and the unclean spiritual air of there. Now I have been back in Canada and am recovering from the sickness. I feel so guilty not to stay with them for days as they asked. Please pray for his salvation and for the forgiveness from Jesus for my that refusal!
