The main problem is our education system. It doesn't guide us very well and also teachers don't teach us the reality of life

Are you serious? Sorry but don’t blame the teachers for your ignorance. Heard of Google? Talk to the school counselor. Teachers on top of having to deal all kinds of bizarre students, have to catch the syllabus, and you expect them to lecture on after SPM options? What about personal initiative? Actually blame your parents. They should have made the initiated to ask around too.

I got matrics but still decide to take stpm because the chance of getting to learn abroad is more higher.(in my opinion) Sem 1 starting later. Wish me luck :3

@@Xyzien in fact, I’m proud that I have the “history” of form 6. But if you compare form 6 to other local preU courses then you can clearly see the inequality in it, especially for the application of hot courses. I don’t think I need to explain to you that how difficult I got into the medicine degree. I’m giving my 2 cents to my fellow juniors who want to take local medical programme. I’m in the circle and I know a lot of people who have the same problem. Once again, that’s “my” opinion, as clearly stated in my video’s title. Thanks for the comment.

Hello Dr Steven Lee ,I got the same situation like u.I’m also not an outstanding and top student in class so I failed to enter matriculation even though I also get straight A’s like u .Becoming a doctor also my dream since I’m small although most of ppl don’t believe I can be a doctor .Currently ,I’m a Form 6 student .I’m stressed out that if I can get 4 flat and continue pursuing my doctor dream.Dr Steven ,could u share to me about how u apply to medical local government uni?

Hello Steven Sia. Im aware that this question is not for me but I have few experience on that and heard few stories from my friends too. Im a medical student in govs uni and I took STPM previously. As much being said that to secure a seat for med school, getting 4flat is a must, I believe that is not the exact case for stpm graduates. For local public uni, I would say the best way is to apply for uni enrollment via UPU on one condition; meeting the minimum requirement, by which would be different for each institute. For example, to get enrolled into MD UKM would require you at least a CGPA of 3.8 and above while for MD UMS would be >3.5....For that, Ive seen a lot of unique cases for stpm graduates where getting 3.58 is excellent enough to be accepted into MD UMS. However, it still depends on how one perform during his/her IV session before getting accepted. So, don't be stressed and do not let ur dreams go away if you didn't score 4flat for stpm. Few of my stpm colleagues also got accepted into ukms med school with cgpa of 3.83, 3.92 and not necessarily 4.00. But for sure, the amount of stpm graduates would be much less than those coming from matrics and foundation where most of them are 4flat scorers. Put aside UPU, there are few public uni with their own channel for enrollment but those applying through this way, if they got accepted, their fee structure would be more expensive than students applying for enrollment using upu. I would say, their fee would be of almost the same as private uni. Kinda.

@@zzziv6 this means a lot to me as a sem 2 student. i feel like quitting because i cant score 4 flat last sem since i thought i wont get into a med school without a 4flat gpa, so thank you so much. i hope your journey is eased.

I'm about to take my SPM in less than a month, and I would like to know what is the requirements to apply for STPM, since my dream universities required STPM and it seemed to be cost relative. I've researched for quite a while and I found zero straight answers to my question.

The title: Why i choose stpm? The content: I actually not choose it. It's basically bcs of my ignorance tht resulted me to take f6. Don't be like me and choose matriks or just go explore other options. Me:What the f? The title got me. I think he really choose f6 by his own will. 🙄

Gonna say that STPM is not the best choice to get into the “hot” courses in public uni. Not gonna sugar coat things. Of course it’s still doable like what I said in my video. If there are better and easier choices, why not?
