Jess' Autism causes her to have multiple sensory issues. Jess' face pats are the way she shows affection, because she's not keen on hugging. Val and the whole family would never do something to her that she didn't like, because that's abuse. Jess always asks politely, before she gives her family face pats.

@@Toffee146 I knew that and understood it. I guess I have sensory issues too. Once or twice I might could tolerate, but after that it would be irritating. I just think trading soft pats would lessen the frequency. Jess’s reaction showed she didn’t like it. Thank you for the information. Others may not have known.

I use headphones when on my computer so nobody else in the room knows what I'm watching or listening to. However, even without me realizing it, I will have a huge smile on my face which will cause my daughter to say "I know whose videos you're watching". Unfortunately theres not much on youtube that makes me smile, but fortunately theres at least one channel that does.
