Mine's a scruffy old heap that I have owned for all of this century. It's been sat around for the last 8 years and has 33000 miles on it. I dragged it out of the lockup a few weeks ago and have been doing a full chassis service, oil and filter and a carb strip and clean. New chrome on the forks, head races while it was in bits. Stripped out all the rear suspension to clean and grease and might as well have not bothered, it was perfect. It's going to be as good as it ever was, brilliant bike. I know it doesn't make a lot of power by modern standards but any bike that can show 150 on the speedo is not slow. Looking forward to reacquainting myself with it.

Nice vid, i bought a 97 model about 4 weeks ago, its like its just come out the showroom, old guys really look after their bikes, the build quality on 90's vfr's is astounding, honda were top of the game at that time, i dont think any other manufacturer came close with build quality. I also have a 2001 R1150gs and the build quality is not a patch on the VFR

The oldest bike I have is a 1999 VFR800 Interceptor and it's in mint condition with 21000 miles on it and this machine gets more attention that my CBR600 or my 2023 Ninja. The sound alone from the V4 and that gear driven cam is amazing. Then the performance, it's very comfortable to ride, it's 0 to 60 is about 3 seconds, top speed clocked is 163mph, so it's quick and plenty fast and despite being 24 years old, runs smooth as ice.

Lovely bike the vfr750. Unique sound too. One of Honda's best. Simple rule for corners. Never go faster than the vanishing point. Then you will always be able to stop well within the distance you can see to be clear. May I recommend the police roadcraft book on motorcycling. Stay safe bud and nice video. I still have a 1997 vfr 750,,its last year before the fuel injected 800

Excuse me. What do you mean by “never go faster than the vanishing point” - I would like to understand it. Also is the Police roadcraft book by Penny Mares and Philip Coyne? Thank you!
@wolfburgman Жыл бұрын
Hi there, I have leant out my police roadcraft book so I'm not sure who wrote it. When you approach a corner, where the two sides of the road appear to meet, this is the vanishing point. Depending on the sharpness of the bend the vanishing point will do one of three things. It will appear to be stationary. You need to slow down because this bend is sharp. Second, the point will move away at the speed you are travelling. So you can maintain that speed through the corner. Third the point moves faster than your current speed. You can safely accelerate until you match its speed. Hope this helps. If anyone can explain this better please feel free to comment. Thank you

AMB straight bars, all day comfort. let go of left bar and can sit straight up and get wind if I want. 520 conversion chain, more torque. it'll get up to speed quickly without running to redline. From northern Idaho, cheers mate.

I totally agree with you about new bikes. I have a 2019 gsxs1000 and as lovely as it is ive had the fi and engine management light come on a few times. There are that many electronics nowadays that they have to be plugged in to diagnose what the issue is. Im now actually considering selling and going old school again. I miss the character and simplicity of them. Nice bike btw. :)

Nice video. I've had three VFRs with a VTR in between! Bought my current VFR a couple of years ago on a cruise across the Atlantic! Same colour as this one. Still tend to think the first model I had, before the single sided swing arm was possibly the best one to ride! It got nicked sadly.

The floppy offside mirror is easily fixed. Pull the black condom off (ooerr missus) and at the base of the mirror arm is a bolt with an Allen-key head. Set the arm where you want it, tighten it up (the mirror also pivots), replace the boot and Robert's yer Auntie's live-in lover.

13:00 you talk about not being able to see around corners because you can't see what may be ahead. Positioning further over and turning in later would help you see more of what's ahead.

@@motofiction4233 hi one of the reasons the rc24 is better there's not one piece of steel in it except the exhaust it's lighter buy some 17kg for that reason the engine is absolutely spot on nothing rusts I've travelled all over Europe many times never had any problems this is the bike that gave honda the reputation they have now the rc36 is a great bike but its only a copy with more modern tyres that why I have an rc24 for fun days and an rc36 as a work horse hope that helps I'm not very good at this sort of thing

@@jasonalgar8070 thanks man. Here the rc24 and the 36 are both almost the same price. 17kg is really something to think about. Is the rc24 good in corners compared to the 36? And how would you compare the grip, suspension and handling of both? I heard braking isn't good on both. Is that true?

not this year its expensive and i would need to get a new Lid new boots and new pair of gloves they dont let you do track days in short gloves and thats quite a lot of money to spend before i even book the track. Maybe next year
