My 1984 Goldwing Aspencade had linked brakes, currently own 2 1800s. The brakes are linked, but if you use your foot, it gives you more breaking power to the rear tire than the front. And when you use your hand grip, it gives you more braking power to the feon tire than the rear.

Love this bike! My 22 DCT Tour is my 3rd since 84. Nothing is perfect. But it’s perfect for me. Sport mode is a beast. The DCT is on another level. Clutch is from Honda’s sport bikes and very smooth but antiquated when compared with the seamless & quick Formula One DCT. Enjoy!

From Honda: Slipper clutch in our manual-transmission Gold Wings just like our premium sportbikes. It only makes sense-the 1833cc engine delivers tons of power, and the stellar chassis lets you ride this Gold Wing like a sportbike. Also a good Cycle World article by Kevin Cameron in May 10, 2019 regarding the increasing use of Slipper Clutches from sport bikes across the industry. Makes sense. But nothing beats the DCT for off the line performances and in traffic use to name a few are making a DCT more attractive. Live with one and you’ll appreciate the magic. I test rode the new generation Gold Wings back in 2018 both clutch & DCT. Wasn’t thrilled with smaller trunk and thankfully Honda updated the trunk in 21. I wanted a different color than black or red. Saw at the EICMA show an Ultra Blue was being introduced to the US market in 22! That’s what I bought. Have fun my friend.

I came off my sixth and last Harley M8 POS Roadking to a new 2018 Wing Tour 6MT bought July of 2019 with one mile on it for $10k off msrp. The Wing is the best boring motorcycle I've ever owned. It is underpowered, the navi, audio and bluetooth are extremely out of date tech wise. But the bike is ok and much better as a 6MT. The slipper/assist clutch is really good. Riding the DCT compounds the boring for me and if you get real aggressive with the DCT it will take over even if your in manual mode sports mode and lock you out if doing aggressive down shifts because the DCT doesn't have a slipper clutch function. Wife likes the Wing and being a small lady it's like she has her own apt. back there. And the Wing does eat miles like a kid eats candy. But not being able to live with Wing alone I went and bought a new MT-09 Hooligan bike for fun and the pure essence of riding. Enjoy your new bike. You will spend money on it like a Harley. All sorts of functional and dress up farkles out there. Enjoy!
