These changes are honestly way better. Seeing points rack up rather than an all or nothing approach for completing a set makes me constantly want to log on for 20 mins at a time. The master shard is a little too expensive now lol

Yes I think they did this temporarily so we wouldn't use only master shards. I think when the game is live it will be more balanced and will not take 800 dust to make a master shard

I was fine with the shard changes but the volume of non catchable is annoying now. I understand, longevity but can’t catch top tiers on occasion is a real ball buster

i'm not find any top tier illuvial after this update. This is so suck while the master shards are pretty expensive at the same time.

The problem isn't making changes, it's that the airdrop amounts are way too excessive relative to the amount of time it took to get the same amount of points previously. You talk about thinking for the long term - they've now shown that they are willing to change the rules any time they want and in a manner that doesn't seem to respect the time previously put in by earlier players. If they feel like an adjustment needs to be made for [new players/more engagement/whatever], they should have at least explained why they're doing something that so obviously impacts those who have already given them in hundreds of hours of playtesting. In a certain sense, the worst thing about these changes is that the team did it the way they did, knowing the reaction that would certainly result, and not even bothering to acknowledge the totally predictable dissatisfaction by earlier players. FWIW, I very much enjoy all the upgrades/changes/improvements they've made to the game. but the changes to the airdrop structure just seem a bit too unconsidered and done without any respect for the time that the earliest players gave them. I DO like the additional airdrop points, but, again, the amount of those points are fundamentally out of proportion to the previous point structure. All that being said, you're definitely making the best illuvium youtube videos. thanks for the efforts and info and overall great content!

That is a very interesting thought at the end of your second paragraph. "They did it intentionally for the engagement" That is a possibility and maybe they wanted it.... Not a good way to drop updates expecting controversy. Not cool. Probably the best well thought response I have seen in counter yet. Thanks for sharing. I also appricate your last Comment and will keep trying to make solid content moving forward.

Ya it's just hard to find the balance. I don't want new players coming in and just seeing a war. We need to move forward. Now we have OGs upset that the holo points are too much...just not good

Ok, so i agree with you on your opinion about game changes. But... At first - project is making airdrop rewards, its basically marketing. And its not right to use money to get more attention and players to come, but then suddenly those who come for money are bad. Its the same mistake with every project, they say that they want to test the game, but making sweat grinding competition and as a result - majority of people dont enjoy the game, cuz they dedicated to the grind. I dont know why its so difficult to understand. And i dont understand why someone thinks that giving advantage to the players who just got access to closed beta - is better than just make some separate rewards for them. But as i can see no one cares about fair experience for the players, but want them to be happy with all the changes in the middle of the grind competition 😂 I hope it will be not super hard to understand my point, cuz english isn't my native language haha

Everything you said is valid. They could have segmented the snapshot and that would have resolved a lot of problems. That way everyone who grinded so far would rewarded and more chances for new joins.

Master shard change gud. Now just make it so that trades don't count for the same weight. Either give traded illuvials a negative multiplier OR give 'caught' ones a big THICC multiplier if held until the end of beta. Put an end to these "whale" games we're seeing on the market. I think there is a proposal going forward to remove some of the traded T5S3 from the airdrop pool. That should satisfy your thoughts on the game. It is unfortunate that the seth is being manipulated to the extremes. But this was expected imo. Its part of the game, knowing how to farm seth the best ways.

Yeah, I don't care what the airdrop farmers have to say about anything, ever. They're fleas. I love all of the updates, and I would even take it further and say everything needs to be even MORE difficult to obtain. It's hard to know once we have to start actually paying/farming to play, but we risk the game being DOA if all of these things become too easy to obtain. Noooobody should be able to obtain a full set of illuvials within a year, even two. You want people to always have something to chase. I want to see people losing their minds screaming when they catch a holo or even a regular tier 5, just like they do with top tier FIFA cards for example. Anything short of that, and I think you're cannibalizing your replay value and your longevity.

Ya it is definitely hard finding a balance. If they make them to hard to find the other games will struggle in the ecosystem. If a competitive deck in arena cost 2k very few people will play and that game will die all together. I think the holos and dark holos drop rate is Key. I haven't played enough to get a feel if they are in a good spot. But I feel this update overall will give us a better understanding of the game.

i disagree on the ethereal illuvials especially after the changes to master shards if i'm going to be paying top dollar for a master shard i want to be able to catch anything i want with it if they want to restrict whales ruining the economy make a 1 or 2 master shard limit so even if you have 200 in storage you can't use them all at once

I'm like 90% sure the master shard recipe will be reverted when the game goes to mainnet. very few people are going to be paying 200+ $ for a Master shard...just unrealistic. It was unfortunate(I have over 100 raw shards on standby and a lot of dust. All of which is worth way less. I still think overall it was good for the game long term though.

@@Polemos_io i have no problem with them restricting things so the economy doesn't go ballistic but i think reducing the number of master shards you can carry is a better way to go instead of bumping the price

we spend like 3 days making 39k points for getting all the tier 5 and now if you catch a holo tier 2 stage 3 you get 125k idk why they make this changes in the middle of the event, they are like kids making choices

I can understand your frustration. I have over 300hours in the game now, but they are changing the way we are playing to be more focused on how the game is supposed to be played. I think this is better for the long term success of the project

@@Polemos_io i know, but you cant do this in the middle of the event, its like making a quest and when all of us finally complete that quest they change the quest in the last moment, its trash dude, the event had to start and end with the same rules, i know its tesnet but we are on an event right now, they shouldn do this, at least not now

@@francoporqueras I don't think it needs to be that hard and fast - I think anyone who's participated in a beta release knows that the rules can change. but the way it was done and the magnitude of the changes seem to disregard any of the most dedicated players' earlier efforts. I, personally, wouldn't have minded if the new points were a proportionately alternate way to get airdrop points but the amount of points now being made available make previous progress effectively irrelevant - and that feels like a slap in the face to those who were among the more dedicated to this game.

The real unfair thing is who had plenty of master bal....shards have a HUUUUUUUGE advantage over those who didnt make them before

Ya it helps them for sure but we all had the same start date. We could have spent the first few weeks just farming shards. some did and are in a good spot(I got recked personally. Had over 100 "RAW" shards. Should have broke them down and fused them. But We just have to find the best way to move forward. I' sure they will move the airdrop around again. You could try and predict it.

@@Polemos_io Not only that, i really think they didnt balance the points for holo. Its waaaaaaaaaay too much. On the other hand, it kind of balance the advanatge of those who have plenty amsterballs but their previous points are not that important since holo provides much more
